Kuala Lumpur, 31 May 2012 – Four pastry chefs, three weeks of undivided attention, two-tier base and one mission was all it takes for the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (the Centre)’s culinary team to create a delightful confection and pay tribute to the country’s 14th King, Yang di-Pertuan Agong Tuanku Abdul Halim, in conjunction with His Royal Highness’ birthday celebration on 2 June 2012.

Themed ‘Supreme Sovereign’, the impressive four feet tall cake was dressed in yellow icing to align with the royal colour. The Centre’s Pastry Chef, Jamaluddin Zainal Abidin and his team then perfected this masterpiece by spending hours decorating the cake with intricate motifs inspired by traditional Malay arts and crafts, to give it the royal grandeur and stature it deserves.
