Kuala Lumpur, 9 April 2012 – Thai food connoisseurs will get the opportunity this month to experience authentic Thai culinary prepared by visiting award-winning Thai chefs at Dorsett Regency Kuala Lumpur.From 16 to 30 April 2012, renowned Thai culinary instructor Chef Aek Charttrakul together with distinguished lecturer Chef Sangwan Thummasa from the prominent Suan Dusit Rajabhat University, will be preparing a wide array of well-known Thai dishes at Checkers Café in Dorsett Regency Kuala Lumpur.
Chef Charttrakul, who previously worked in France and is currently an organising committee member of the Thailand Culinary Academy, together with Chef Thummasa will be collaborating with Dorsett Regency Kuala Lumpur’s culinary team to serve a truly irresistible ‘Amazing Taste of Thailand-Songkran Festival’ promotion.The Thai food buffet, available from Monday to Friday for lunch at RM70.00++ per person and dinner at RM80.00++ per person (50% discount for kids from 4-12 years-old and senior citizens above 55 years-old) will feature popular specialties such as Thai Laksa, Tom Yam Kung, Yam Som ‘O’, Lap Kai, Yam Pla Dook Foo, Kaeng Som Pla, Kaeng Phet Ped, Khao Phat Kung Kai and Tan Tim Krob.
As part of the festival, the guest instructors will also be staging an exclusive ‘Thai Cooking Class’ on 21-22 April 2012 from 11.00 am to 2.00 pm. Participants in this hands-on cooking class, will learn how to prepare exotic Thai food fare such as beef curry (kaeng kew wan nua), chicken with galangal in coconut infused soup (tom kha gai), som tam, tom yam goong and mock pomegranate seed with coconut milk (tub tim krob).
