Petaling Jaya, 14 July 2015 – Patrons who dined at a Boat Noodle restaurant during the month of Ramadhan will be pleased to know that they played a part in bringing some festive cheer to the less fortunate.

For every bowl of noodles sold in their nine outlets across the Klang Valley from 18-28 June 2015, Boat Noodle donated RM0.10 towards a charitable cause, in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan and the upcoming Hari Raya celebrations.

During the ten-day period, the restaurant successfully sold 120,000 delectable bowls of noodles, generating a total of RM12,000 that was divided equally between four orphanages and welfare centres across Malaysia.

The mock cheques were presented to the respective homes at a special ceremony held recently at Boat Noodle Publika and Johor Bahru outlet.

“In celebration of Ramadhan, which emphasises qualities such as generosity and kindness, we at Boat Noodle are happy to do our part and share this precious moment with the less fortunate. I hope that our small but heartfelt contribution will go a long way towards making the upcoming Hari Raya celebration much more memorable and meaningful for these wonderful kids,” said Mr. Tony Lim, Managing Director of Utara 5 Food and Beverage Sdn. Bhd., the owners and operators of the Boat Noodle brand in Malaysia.

The four lucky recipients of the restaurant’s generous efforts were Persatuan Insani Darul Takzim (Johor), Persatuan Kebajikan Anak Yatim dan Miskin Al-Munirah (Klang), Rumah Amal Kasih Bestari (Subang) and Yayasan Anak-Anak Yatim Pinggir Taman Tun Dr. Ismail (TTDI).

Utara 5 Food and Beverage Sdn. Bhd. currently owns and operates nine Boat Noodle outlets across the Klang Valley and Johor Bharu and looks forward to expanding its footprint across more locations in Malaysia.
