February 22, 2012 Bario,Sarawak
The town of Bario, located on the northern part of Sarawak, is not only the home of Kelabit and Penan tribes (both belonging to the Orang Ulu ethnic group) but also the source of exotic food and crafts. Located at the altitude of 3,280 metres above sea level, Bario is blessed with cool weather with temperatures that could go down as low as 11° Celsius. It has 14 villages with the population of 2,000 people.

As the Gaya Travel team stepped into the restaurant, we were directed to one of the tatami rooms that is modestly decorated with shoji screens that separated us from the other guests. There are three tatami rooms in Gen Japanese Restaurant and each are decorated distinctively to give a different feel for guests every time they come.

The drive to Agra from Delhi was around five hours. The Indian countryside was beautiful. Fields full of blooming yellow mustard flowers with sights of horse-carts and camel-carts carrying big loads of hay took our breath away.

is the north-western region of the Indian subcontinent. It is a disputed territory, claimed by both India and Pakistan, with some areas also claimed by China. Security is very tight in Kashmir due to its political unrest. We were quite worried about our safety in Kashmir prior to the trip.

Anggun Spa (loosely means ‘elegant’ in English) lives up to its name: the humble setting of the spa is soothingly pared down and restraint yet tasteful. The only thing that can be heard from the lounge was the flow of water from the pipe in the hydrotherapy pool. As I entered the spa to wait for my therapist to prepare the room, I was quickly awashed with feeling of calmness.
