KCC1M Selangor is back again and is bolder than ever! This time, Kembara Cuti-Cuti 1Malaysia (KCC1M) Selangor programme uncovered places that are sure to excite travelling families, including MICE (meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions) groups who come to Selangor!
Gaya Travel Magazine collaborated closely with Tourism Malaysia Selangor office in organising this familiarisation trip around Selangor, which had been eye-opening to say the least. Let’s take a look at the interesting places we visited and the things we did…
Go on a wild adventure in the WILD with SKYTREX ADVENTURE
Shah Alam, Selangor may be an industrial city, but little do people know that they kept a little bit of lush greenery in Taman Botani Shah Alam. Skytrex Adventure was introduced to the public three years ago and has made its mark in becoming the place for organising teambuilding programmes, specifically for students and corporate sector.
This outdoor activity challenges your fear of heights, traversing from one tree top to another, while encourages you to appreciate nature. Believe me, this is the place where visitors can enjoy jungle-trekking from a height they have never reached before: at the jungle canopy level! You can find Skytrex Adventure at Taman Botani Shah Alam, formerly known as Bukit Cerakah.
Be charmed by the Islamic arts and handicrafts of SELANGOR ISLAMIC ARTS GARDEN COMPLEX (RESTU FOUNDATION)
Selangor Islamic Arts Garden Complex is the venue where all the crafts and arts are being displayed and exhibited. Located near Shah Alam’s Blue Mosque, it is the place where paintings and fine artworks are produced, all in keeping with the teachings of Islam’s Holy Book, the Quran. The delegates took a long time to explore the artworks showcased at Taman Seni Islam hence, fascinatingly discovered the beauty of Islamic art.
Restu Foundation is renowned for the production of mushaf (hardcopies) of the Quran and Quranic publications that are adorned with exclusively illuminated geometric and floral designs. The foundation laudably preserves the art of producing fully hand-written and illuminated types of mushaf that are accompanied by different translations. There are many products that can be found here such as calligraphic works, illuminated coloured art pieces, manuscripts, tiles, home furnishings, replicas of ancient mushaf and more.
Chill while you’re reading at the PERPUSTAKAAN RAJA TUN UDA
This has got to be the coolest place for children, teenagers and students in Shah Alam by far! This is not a typical, boring library that people might normally think. The pure intention of this library is to make it as a second home for children and teenagers around Malaysia so as to attract youngsters to read, chill out and just spend their time mostly in the library instead of the malls.
Perpustakaan Raja Tun Uda (Raja Tun Uda Library), located on Jalan Kelab Golf, has brought the library experience to a whole new level. Consisting of six storeys and boasting a collection of 190,000 books and counting, Perpustakaan Raja Tun Uda does not only provide world class library facilities, but it also comes with a gym, multipurpose hall, XD Theatre and a 3D Cinema that fits 8 people and 30 people in one time, respectively!

By the way, which library allows visitors to lie down on the floor while reading their books if not Raja Tun Uda Library?have got more than we could ever think of.
