Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear celebrates its fifth anniversary at Pavilion Bukit Bintang with five highly anticipated days of fashion festivities from 16th to 20th August 2017.

Close to 150 designers will be showcasing their never-seen-before “Runway Collection” exclusively at KLFW RTW 2017 – 20 of which belong to AirAsia Runway Ready Designer Search 2017, who will be competing during the Grand Finale on the 18th August 2017.

During the recent Grand Launch of Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week Ready to Wear 2017 (KLFW RTW 2017) with Tourism Malaysia at Pavilion Bukit Bintang, Andrew Tan – the Founder of KL Fashion Week Ready to Wear – shared, “the KL Fashion Week Ready to Wear is a platform that does more than just showing the latest collections from many of our Malaysian designers. With the hard work and effort, we believe that KL Fashion Week Ready to Wear has elevated our designers to be recognised within the South-East Asia region and I strongly believe that Kuala Lumpur Fashion Week has built a pipeline to future and established local talents and empowering and strengthening our fashion industry.”

“Shopping is an important and lucrative for our tourism industry. For the first quarter of 2017, tourist expenditure on shopping recorded RM5.4 billion of our total receipt of RM18.0 billion. It was an increase of 6.3 percent against the same period last year. This trend is a clear reflection of Malaysia’s current profile as a shopping destination as acknowledged by a series of reputable international rating agencies,” said YB Datuk Hjh Mas Ermieyati binti Haji Samsudin, the Deputy Minister of Tourism and Culture at the event.

Tourism Malaysia has also taken the initiative to include the public to join the festival by providing a Fashion-on-Go OOTD Truck, that encourages public to go to the truck and take an OOTD picture and upload it on their social media with the official hashtags #RURunwayReady#Negaraku#SayangMalaysia and #IAMHOMEGROWN; lucky winners will stand a chance to win tickets to KLFW RTW 2017.
