Kuching , 4 April, 2013- Malindo Air officially arrived in Kuching , touching down at 1315 hrs 80% load. There were about 50 media personnel joining this flight which departed at 1125 hrs from KLIA main terminal building.
Upon arrival, Malindo Air passengers were given a grand reception in traditional Sarawakian style led by sarawak’s Honorable Minister of Housing and Minister of tourism Sarawak, YB Datuk Amar Haji Abang Abdul Rahman Zohari bin Tun Abang Haji Openg. Datuk Amar Abang Zohari said : ” The commencement of Malindo Air ‘s linking the hub of Kuala Lumpur with the States capital.
This provides increased connectivity not only to our domestic tourist from the nation’s capital but also to foreigners visiting Malaysia.
Also present was Dato Rashid Khan, CEO of Sarawak Tourism Board and officials of Malindo Air led by it’s CEO, Mr Chandran Rama Muthy . Dato Rashid also commended Malindo Air for their support and is looking foward to their expansion into other parts of Sarawak thus boosting its tourism industry.
Total visitor into Sarawak have increased 7.2 % which translates into 4.07 million tourist arrivals as of 31 December 2012, compared to the same period in the previous year. Foreign arrivals alone have continued to increase steadily at 12.4 % which is 2.6 million during the period.
Malindo Air ‘s emergence with flights to Sarawak will help improve connectivity and therefore give an option for people to Travel . either the premium travelers or the price sensitivities ones.
