Makan at Renaissance Offers Luscious Deal to Tackle Big Comforting Month

Renaissance Johor Bahru Hotel is only two years old but the property’s all day-dining outlet, Café BLD, has always deserved a standing ovation for its spread. The buffet has always been filled with scrumptious dishes prepared by Malay Sous Chef, Chef Kamaruzzaman Ahmad Hadzri or fondly known as Chef Man.

Perak born Chef Man is a multi-award Chef with over 10 years of experience in French and Malay cuisine. He is set to impress many with his family’s age old recipe of Beef Rendang Tok Perak, Lamb Kuzi, Gulai Kawah and Johor local delights such as Ayam Percik Buluh, Ikan Kembung Madu and Mussel Padprik.

It’s always an unforgettable experience when dining at Café BLD. The buffet spread consists of more than 10 Live Stations serving mouth-watering cuisines from all over the world and more than 130 lip-smacking Malay, Chinese and Indian dishes.

Diners are invited to tease their palates with the delicious plates of authentic Kerabu, Ulam and Acar with assorted Sambals. Other highlights are Mee Rebus and Asam Laksa, including selections of Rojak, Roasted Duck & Chicken.

Besides the Malay salads, there is also the Salad Bar, Freshly Baked Bread, Enchiladas and Vegetables Tempura and Ramadan all-time favourite, Roti John.

Next to the lovely salads are heated pots of Lemang and Beef Rendang together with Serunding Ayam and Serunding Daging.

Seafood Raw Bar is always a popular station and filled with Prawns, Clams, Mussels, Crab, Fresh Oysters and Scallop with Goma, Plum, Lemon Wedges, Spicy Coriander Pesto and Chilli Dressing. Diners are also spoiled for choice with Café BLD’s Japanese choices such as Sushi, Sashimi, Maki Roll and Smoked Fish, including selected Korean fare.

Bubur Lambuk is a must have to warm up the tummy after a long day of fasting. Diners are also invited to savour the hearty Fish, Chicken and Chickpea Bubur Lambuk or other Malay soups such as Clear Chicken Soup Noodle and Soto Ayam.

One of the stations that diners should not give a miss at Café BLD is the Live Carving Station. Chef Man carving station offers Whole Baked Fish with Lemon Butter Sauce and Salsa and the main highlight is Kambing Kuzi. There are also high quality cuts of Roast Beef, Chicken and Lamb. Satay is another must-have during this season and Café BLD serves up thick chunk of Chicken or Beef Satay with Ketupat and Satay Sauce.

On the Italian section, enjoy an array of Pasta Carbonara, Al Fredo, Arabiatta and Napolitana and assorted wooden baked oven Margarita, Pepperoni, and Mediterranean Pizza. Also, chicken nugget and wedges.

The hot buffet station offers delectable Malay, Chinese and Indian dishes that are guaranteed to satisfy any foodie such as Rendang Daging, Ikan Tenggiri Asam Pedas and Ayam Masak Lemak Belimbing. It is always difficult to choose since the dishes served in this section taste divine with White Rice or Tomato Rice.

For Oriental flavour, there are Daging Lada Hitam Ala Chinese, Egg Beancurd with Vegetable, Mushroom & Oyster Sauce, Ayam Masak Halia Chinese Style, Chinese Mix Vegetables and assorted Dim Sum.

The Indian spread has always been everyone favorite and this year the Café’s Paratha Man will be showcasing his Paratha, Chicken Murtabak, Naan and Chicken Tandoori flair.

Famed for exquisite sweet creations, the renowned Pastry Chef Din whips up dessert spread featuring assorted Malay Kueh, Pengat Pisang, Bubur Cha Cha, Agar-Agar, Sago Gula Melaka, Assorted French Pastries, Wajik, Ice Cream and lineup of fruits and beverages station. Chef Din, Vienna’s Best Sugar Artist, also will be presenting a must have beverage during the special month, which is Air Kathira.
