August 8, 2011 | comments

OrphanCARE celebrated its First Anniversary of Malaysia’s first Baby Hatch in conjunction with a fund-raising dinner held at Mandarin Oriental Kuala Lumpur recently. The event was graced by its Patron, Her Royal Highness The Sultanah of Pahang, Sultanah Hajjah Kalsom. Apart from the delicious Chinese dinner, the audiences were feted with performances by Noryn Aziz, Harith Iskandar, Fakhrul Razi, Sabhi Saddi, Shanel, Shinji Moriwaki, Natasha Ayla, Ady Suwardy, Addi Parman, Poova Placciak and Hardy Arbi. There was also a moving tribute to OrphanCARE’s late Founder and President, Dato’ Adnan Mohd Tahir.
Funds raised go towards the maintenance of the baby hatch, setting up of future baby hatches, roadshows aimed at educating the public on baby abandonment and plight of orphans, including OrphanCARE’s general operations and administration.
Who is OrphanCARE?
OrphanCARE is a non-profit, non-governmental organisation whose objective is to give orphans and abandoned babies in Malaysia the love, care and security of a family. Working closely with the Ministry of Women, Family and Community Development, OrphanCARE has successfully placed 30 babies with loving families to date. There is a long waiting list of interviewed couples just waiting to adopt. Help OrphanCARE in its mission to save these innocent young lives and stop baby abandonment in our country!
OrphanCARE’s BABY HATCH
The baby hatch is meant to serve as a “lifeline” to unwanted babies born by (usually unwed) mothers who, in state of desperation and hopelessness, may otherwise have resorted to abandoning them.
