Subang Jaya, 23 July 2012 - The Grand Dorsett Subang hosted a charity ‘buka puasa’ in conjunction with the holy month of Ramadhan for 60 underprivileged residents from Rumah Kasih Sayang, Rawang. The event which was held at the hotel’s private function hall was attended by a special guest of honour, Puan Sri Datin Seri Salbiah Tunut, Selangor Menteri Besar’s wife who was present throughout the occasion. The residents were all warmly welcomed by Puan Sri Datin Seri Salbiah Tunut and staff of the hotel.
The residents were treated with an array of local and international delights. There were stunning ‘Nasyid’ performances by the residents from Rumah Kasih Sayang.The highlight for the evening was when the special guest of honour, Puan Sri Datin Seri Salbiah Tunut, Selangor Menteri Besar’s wife accompanied by the Director of Operations of Grand Dorsett Subang, Mr Alfred Paulsen handed out festive monies to the residents.
“This activity has fostered and improved the relationship between Grand Dorsett Subang’s community and residents from Rumah Kasih Sayang. This is a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programme by Grand Dorsett Subang with an aims to reach out to the most needy of the less fortunate homes,” said Mr Alfred Paulsen, Director of Operations of Grand Dorsett Subang during his opening speech.
Closing the night, on behalf of Grand Dorsett Subang’s team, Mr Alfred Paulsen handed a symbolic cheque amounting RM750.00 to Ustazah Jalwati Nadirah binti Abu Bakar, representative from Rumah Kasih Sayang, fund contributed by the employees of Grand Dorsett Subang.
