Kanching Waterfall is situated at the border of Kuala Lumpur dan Rawang, Selangor. Its strategic location and provision of recreational activities make it the favorite family forest escape. What makes it unique is that it has 7 levels of waterfall and every level has its own pool. Furthermore, the existing trails draw visitors to hike to its peak. While on the Rawang Bypass, the waterfall-goers will be able to witness the Kaching nature’s reserve, timber or scientifically known as Hopea Subalata that is an endemic species that grows only in this area.
Sg Chilling Waterfall that is located roughly 13 kilometres away from Kuala Kubu Bharu or 70 kilometres away from Kuala Lumpur has become one of the hot spot amongst local and international tourist. Sg Chilling that is under the management of the Department of Fisheries Malaysia is situated in between Kuala Kubu Bharu and Fraser’s Hill. Along the way, visitors get to see a magnificent view of the Selangor River Dam dan the homes of the indigenous people of “Kampung Pertak”. For those who love challenges, Sg. Chilling has six waist-high rivers to be crossed in order to get to its peak with an average to high water current gushing down its rocks. Once you visit, the beauty of this Chilling Rivers will always remain as one of your best memory and experience that you have ever had.
Serendah Waterfall or also known as Templer Kai or Recreational Waterfall Serendah however, is situated 3 kilometres away from an indigenous people village known as “Perkampungan Orang Asli Serendah”, and upon entering the modern village, visitor get to see the lifestyle of these indigenous people. Here, even though the waterfall seems small and shallow, it offers gushing water that is refreshingly cold that splashes onto those who sit by it. The beauty and cleanliness of this tourist destination is great for picnics and swims. Just at the junction entering the waterfall, is where the famous Seven Well or “Perigi Tujuh” is located that sure attract visitors even more as it carries its own unique story.
Hutan Lipur Sungai Sendat or the Sendat River Tropical Rainforest is located in Ulu Yam and on the way to Batang Kali. It is approximately 73.5 km away from Kuala Lumpur which takes about an hour and 20 minutes to reach. This waterfall is one of the favorite amongst city dwellers as they long for a getaway from the hustle and bustle of the metropolis. This waterfall offers three levels of which the base is suitable for swimming activities. The second level is shallow but if you are brave enough, you can try to slide off the big rock that leads to the base and at the third level is where you can enjoy diving into ice cold water. The surrounding of this waterfall is also filled with plush greens that becomes one of the many tourist destination in Selangor.
Kemensah Waterfall or better known as Batu Asah Waterfall is located in Kampung Kemansah, Hulu Klang Selangor. This popular recreational destination amongst families provide campsites and barbecue pits that will sure give a brand new experience for young children. Apart from that, there are the “Jeram Teratak Angah” chalets available which are great for picnics and the thrilling All-Terrain Vehicle (ATV) rides that explore the scenic tropical jungle.
Sungai Gabai or Gabai River Waterfall is located at “Kampung Sungai Lim” which flows from the “Gunung Besar Hantu” that is situated in Negeri Sembilan. This recreational centre does not only promises cold and refreshing gushing waters but is surrounded by orchards. Sungai Gabai Waterfall is known for its 12 levels accompanied by 336 stairs reaching to the top. The higher you go, the deeper the water. Also, the breathtaking view awaits you at every step higher you take. It sure is a picture perfect moment.
Sungai Tekala Waterfall is located behind Bukit Ampang about 10 to 20 minutes drive from Batu 14 Hulu Langat. It has attracted almost 9,000 visitors in one month. Almost every week, this recreational site will be flooded with tourists from all states and countries. Sungai Tekala Waterfall is best for children as the water current is not too strong. This location has become the preferred waterfall due to its facilities that is updated and well-maintained. Like other places, it is also a great spot for picnics and jungle trekking.
