The 11th leg of Colours of Aidilfitri was launched last 3 July 2015 by the Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation (Kraftangan Malaysia) with better products and increased participation. The launch was officiated by YB Dato ‘Seri Mohamed Nazri bin Tan Sri Abdul Aziz, Minister of Tourism and Culture at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex.

Also present at the event were YBhg. Tan Sri Dr. Ong Hong Peng (Secretary General, MOTAC), YBhg. Datuk Haji Ab. Bin Ghaffar A. Tambi (Deputy Secretary General Culture Office, MOTAC), YBhg. Datuk Seri Siti Azizah bte Sheikh Abod (Chairman of the Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation) and YBhg. Dato ‘Mohd Kamil Mohd Ali (Director-General Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation).

As in previous years, Colours of Aidilfitri 2015 features local craft products for the preparation of Aidifitri such as clothes, accessories, delicacies and decoration items.


Besides helping the local entrepreneurs to market their products directly to the local and foreign visitors, the campaign also aims to develop and generate economic resources for the entrepreneurs involved.

Colours of Aidilfitri 2015 offers a wide range of activities including craft sales and services by 230 entrepreneurs; craft exhibition; craft demonstration (metal accessories); interactive craft-making sessions (ketupat-making); cooking demonstration; ‘Dari Dapur Ibu’ Cooking Competition; scarf tailoring and embroidery competition; ‘Dodol Champion’ Competition; bazaar; tarawih session; zakat counter; and Selfie@Colours of Aidilfitri Competition.

The Malaysian Handicraft Development Corporation targets RM3.2 million in collection from the sales of 230 entrepreneurs during the 12 days of Colours of Aidilfitri 2015 promotion. The campaign runs from 2 until 13 July 2015 from 10:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. at the Kuala Lumpur Craft Complex, Jalan Conlay.
