As many are excited to head out and explore the city once again, Rediscover Kuala Lumpur allows guests to enjoy 20% savings on meals, breakfast for 2 persons, late check out at 5pm and RM50 nett hotel credit per room per night that can be used to deduct the room rate or food and beverage charges in all restaurants that are currently open.

Since the start of MCO, the hotel has actively taken steps to ensure that the health and well-being of their guests and colleagues are being cared for. Upon arrival, guests can expect to see measures taken to ensure a clean and safe environment for all to enjoy. All safety and cleaning measures incorporated are in line with local health authorities’ guidelines.


With that in mind, ShangriLa Group has introduced the “ShangriLa Cares” commitment on 17 June with the goal to elevate its already rigorous hygiene and safety protocols for all properties worldwide. All new procedures and protocols form the cornerstone of an ongoing commitment which will be introduced globally in June 2020 to ensure guests have complete confidence and peace of mind during their stay. 

These are some safety measures the hotel has implemented:


  • Sanitized floor mats for footwear at the hotel’s entrance and disinfection of guest luggage
  • All guests’ temperatures, health and travel declarations and contact details will be documented
  • Clear Perspex screens between guests and colleagues at front desk

Public spaces

  • Gentle reminders on the 1 m safe distancing measures, including floor markers in our hotel’s public areas
  • Hourly cleaning and disinfection of high touch points, public areas and food and beverage outlets – such as door handles and lift buttons
  • Reduced people capacities in the restaurants & lifts 

Guest rooms


  • A 12point cleaning regime with hospital grade disinfectant for frequently touched areas
  • All guests will be provided with a Shangri-La care kit that includes a faced mask in an envelope, hand sanitizer and anti-bacterial wet wipes
  • Use of technology such as UV light and electrostatic spray devices to clean and inspect all surfaces and high-touch points to ensure no areas are missed

Restaurants and recreational facilities

  • An increase in the use of contactless interactions through QR coded menus and digital payment methods
  • Seating capacity in the restaurants will be capped at 50% of their previous capacity and tables will be spaced 2m apart
  • Shorter operating hours and reduced capacities for recreational facilities to carry out deep cleaning of equipment and the premises

The staff

  • Hotel’s staff will wear personal protective equipment such as gloves,  hair net and a face mask where deemed necessary by medical experts
  • Hotel’s staff has undergone training with Diversey, the hotel’s infection prevention expert on the enhanced safety and hygiene measures
  • Mandatory temperature screenings for the staff and any of them feeling ill will be asked to seek immediate medical attention and will be relieved from duty
