Full Line Up for Future Music Festival Asia 2013 Announced!

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: The organisers of Future Music Festival Asia (FMFA), Future Entertainment Australia and Livescape Asia Sdn. Bhd. today announced its full line-up for the massive festival that is set to take place at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from 15 – 16 March this year. The festival this year is also one of the most diverse to date with a mash of musical genres that would cater to all types of music fans.

KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA: The organisers of Future Music Festival Asia (FMFA), Future Entertainment Australia and Livescape Asia Sdn. Bhd. today announced its full line-up for the massive festival that is set to take place at the Sepang International Circuit (SIC) from 15 – 16 March this year. The festival this year is also one of the most diverse to date with a mash of musical genres that would cater to all types of music fans.

The epic festival, dubbed to be the largest music festival in the region and set to become one of the most expensive music productions ever to be held in the country, will for the first time, see the introduction of legendary HipHop acts which will feature the likes of Naughty by Nature, who will be presenting the 20th Anniversary of HipHop Hooray, and De La Soul. The other international act confirmed is English electronic band, Ladytron (DJ set).

The other international acts confirmed for the festival include, world-renowned Dutch DJ Sidney Samson, Grammy Award nominee and trance superstar producer, Andy Moor, and the pride of Asia, Angger Dimmas who has been picked up by the likes of Tiesto and Steve Aoki. With the organizers also keen to add an Asian element into the award-winning music festival, a host of regional and local acts have also been handpicked to showcase their talents on Day 2 of the Future Music Festival Asia which will be held on March 16.

Among those include, Idiotape (South Korea), Shut Da Mouth (South Korea), Sixteen (Indonesia) who is also one of Indonesia’s most promising new talent, DJ Stas (Singapore) and DJ Bento (Japan). Also announced were the local heroes which include some of the country’s top music talents including Malaysia’s top DJ duo, Goldfish & Blink, the country’s king of HipHop, Joe Flizzow, alternative rock band, Kyoto Protocol, iconic electro duo, LapSap, purveyors of indie music, They Will Kill Us All, and a host of other up and coming acts such as Brains & The Eye (B.A.T.E), H3 featuring Arabyrd, Dangerdisko, Eva T, Deer Society, Darren Ashley, Bud Culture, OMP DJs, Mr. Fluff, Twilight Action Girl, Mister Ariffin, FONO, DJ Fuzz, Jakeman & Skeletor, Nadira, Johan Nasir, Mr. Nasty and GuruGuru.

“As the Future Music Festival Asia name suggests, both Future Entertainment Australia and we at Livescape really wanted to ensure that the Asian element is brought into equation and for the regional and local talents to have the opportunity to showcase their music on an international platform. These Day 2 line-up adds to an already star-studded list announced back in November which includes the likes of The Prodigy, PSY, Rita Ora, Fun., The Temper Trap, Bloc Party, DJ Fresh and many more, in addition to Armin Van Buuren’s the legendary ‘A State of Trance: 600 The Expedition World Tour’ which will be held on Day 1 of the Future Music Festival Asia 2013 weekend on March 15.

The event on Day 1 will be dedicated solely to celebrate Armin Van Buuren’s legendary 600th ‘A State of Trance: 600’ (ASOT600) show. This event will also see a host acts handpicked by Armin himself such as, Aly & Fila, Ben Gold, Cosmic Gate, Super8 & Tab and W&W share the stage with Armin Van Buuren, the world’s number one DJ. Held for the first time in Malaysia and Asia, Armin Van Buuren’s ASOT600 is only one of 12 events that have been announced to take place globally this year. Malaysia has been confirmed as its sole Southeast Asia destination.

Significantly, ASOT600 in Kuala Lumpur which is one of the most popular radio mix shows on the planet is set to attract an estimated 20 million people across 26 countries worldwide tuning in live to the historic event in Sepang on March 15 next year. The epic Future Music Festival Asia which thrilled crowds of over 25,000 in March 2012 has been dubbed as the largest music festival to ever hit Southeast Asian shores. Malaysia is the only country to ever host Future Music Festival outside of Australia. Future Music Festival Asia 2013 is also the official opening event for the Malaysian F1 Grand Prix week.

It is organized by Future Entertainment Australia and Livescape Asia Sdn. Bhd. and is fully supported by the Malaysian Convention & Exhibition Bureau (MyCEB) and sponsored by Xpax (Official Telecommunications Partner and Presenter of ASOT600 KL), AirAsia (Official Airline and Co-Presenter of FMFA 2013), AirAsiaGo (Official Online Travel Partner), Sunway Resort Hotel & Spa (Official Hotel), MTV (Official Music Channel), E! Last year, the event attracted over 7,000 tourists with fans from Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, Australia, India and Europe arriving in droves for the festival. Organizers are expecting an influx of over 10,000 fans from abroad for this year’s two-day festival which has sold over 16,000 tickets so far. For the festival this year, fans will be offered choices to purchase either single-day passes or a two- day weekend pass which will grant them access into both days of ASOT 600 & FMFA 2013. With the early-bird tickets already sold out, fans are urged to purchase the remaining tickets which are sold at pre-sale value (priced between RM158 – RM238) as early as possible to avoid being disappointed.
