Swiss-Garden Golf Resort & Spa Damai Laut is a vast property that covers 235 acres of land. The 4-star hotel officially opened its door to business guests and leisure travellers on 18th December 1997 and has been receiving positive feedback ever since.

It may sound hard to keep everything well maintained, but not for Henry Low. He maintained this high maintenance property very well with the help of his dedicated team.

At the age of 47, Mr. Henry Low had had an interesting journey. Becoming the General Manager of Swiss Garden at quite a young age, most people wouldn’t believe how he started to be involved in the field.

Started off as a chamber maid at the age of 19, he started Sandakan and later set his foot to Swiss-Garden Golf Resort & Spa Damai laut as the General Manager starting from May 2011 until present. Henry Low definitely owns an impressive resume.

Now, how did he manage to keep this vast property well maintained? Henry thought that it was a challenge for him to keep it managed but he eventually learned how to cope up with the property by dividing his time to do his roundings. Started off from a humble beginning, he believed that being kind towards his employees gives them motivation and brighten up their day.

By doing so, he is sure that his employees could serve the hotel guests with warmth and pleasure. Henry is also thankful for having a dedicated team to help him build more positive reputation for Swiss-Garden Damai Laut. He believes that teamwork is the most essential part in getting the task to be completed successfully and to achieve greatness.

With a 6-month course certificate he obtained from the National Productivity Centre, Henry Low then started working at the Grand Pacific Hotel, located in Kuala Lumpur, at the Reception Desk for several months and then made his move to Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, working under the Finance Department for five years.

“After Shangri-La, Kuala Lumpur, I then worked under the Park Royal Group for 3 years, moved to Jakarta for one year and a half and then back to Swiss-Garden, Kuala Lumpur for 2 years in 1995,” he said. Henry Lowe was doing quite well, but that’s not all.

“I was then transferred to Kota Kinabalu, Sabah and came back to work for Park Royale again as Rooms Division Manager for seven years in 2007,” he added. After a while, in 2007, he became a Hotel Manager in

When he was asked about the biggest obstacle that he had ever encountered, he said that getting the right person for the right job is the most difficult task can be quite challenging.

“To build a business, you have to find a trustworthy and the perfect person to handle the pressure,” he stated. Diligence and productivity have always been the criteria he seeks among staff since those values contributes to the enhancement of the hotel.

In the future he hopes that Swiss Garden Golf Resort & Spa will become more renowned and visited by many not just from the Northern part of Malaysia, but all throughout the ASEAN region. He also said that he would want the hotel to progress even further and continues to give the best service to its guests by offering them memorable experiences.
