Kuala Lumpur, Wednesday, 20 May 2015 – Istanbul, one of the most enchanting cities of Turkey is hosting the most awaited International Shopping Fest, from 6 to 28 June 2015. Istanbul Shopping Fest is an annual festival of shopping, culture and entertainment which will bring together the rich past of Istanbul. The festival will be enhanced by practically uninterrupted cultural activities, performances, concerts, parades and a variety of other festivities.

Istanbul will become a massive-scale entertainment hub during this period with a myriad of activities like exclusive fashion shows at central spots around the city, concerts and shows for children, celebrations and contests, street carnivals on the sparkling streets of Istanbul like Nisantasi and Taksim.

This spectacular city has been a paradise for shoppers since Roman period. It comprises of the largest and oldest covered bazaar of the world where shoppers can buy any sorts of goods from jewellery to handmade carpets, relics, glass wares, colourful ceramics, silk products and leather fabrics. The fest draws between 250,000 and 400,000 people daily. It will be an amazing experience for travellers to wander through the colourful streets of Grand Bazaar and Spice Bazaar and shop in a traditional and oriental style setting.

The high-decibel festival will strengthen once again Istanbul’s reputation as the city that never sleeps as it becomes the one-stop world shopping hub for almost a month,” said Kaan Yilmaz, Attaché in Turkey Embassy Tourism and Information Office, Malaysia.

Istanbul Shopping Festival coincides with the holy Muslim month of Ramadan. During this time, every corner of the city has gigantic Ramadan tables where people break their fast. One such are is the Sultan Ahmet (Blue Mosque) square, where travellers will find a series of multi-coloured activities like face-painting and animation shows for children, whirling dervish performance and more, promising to make travellers’ Ramadan experience an unforgettable one.

Istanbul invites people to come and enjoy its plentiful shopping treats with great discounts on many types of brands during the Istanbul Shopping Fest. Visitors also get the chance to join lucky draws and win amazing gifts.
