Having the opportunity to stay in one of the property’s Grand Pool Villas above water, Gaya Travel team found that the modest corridor leading to our accommodation belies its interior, which sports sharp and contemporary tropical Asian decor yet warm and homely.

The Grand Pool Villa is so spacious that it felt like a studio apartment containing two king beds; kitchenette with a microwave oven, kettle with coffee and tea set and mini bar; including an attached private pool with patio that offers the panoramic view of the sea. It even comes with a sofa set and 42-inch plasma television with various channels such as Disney, CNN, ESPN, AXN, CineMAX, including national television channels.

All rooms in Grand Lexis Port Dickson are equipped with two high-speed wireless routers, whereby one is placed in the room, while the other one is placed at the pool area to ensure uninterrupted internet connection for the guests. Apart from the separate bathroom and toilet, the Grand Pool Villa’s spacious dressing area allows guests to have more space to fit their personal belongings. We didn’t feel like leaving our room when we were there.However, leave our room we did since we were curious as to what other offerings does the resort have for its guests. Passing through the lobby, we made my way to the first outlet, Duyung Restaurant, which serves all kinds of tasty dishes ranging from pasta to pizza, including sandwiches and fried rice.

Another outlet that guests are recommended to try is the resort’s sole Japanese restaurant, which is headed by Chef Clement Chow, who has 17 years of experience serving Japanese cuisine. Called ‘Gen’, this restaurant serves up extraordinarily wonderful and irresistible Japanese fusion dishes created by Chef Clement himself. After a hearty meal, guests may then unwind at The Lanun Bar, which is open from 5:00 p.m. until midnight, dispensing variety of beverages as well as live entertainment for guests’ enjoyment.Those who love to express themselves will be happy to learn that there are three karaoke rooms in the property, offering songs ranging from Oldies like Frank Sinatra to latest pop craze like Lady Gaga.

For those who love the outdoors, Grand Lexis Port Dickson also offers activities such as crabbing and fishing from the balcony of all above-water rooms or from one of the gazebos built along the walkway. Other recreational activities like beach football and volley ball, archery, Segway adventure track, bicycle and KMX ride are also available for guests to choose. Another way for guests to spend their time  in Grand Lexis is to simply laze by the swimming pool, located next to the fitness centre, where they could savour light refreshments from the pool cafe.Those who prefer to remain indoors can head to the games room that carries Xbox, Nintendo Wii, air football, sumo wrestling, arcade games, playhouse, table tennis and foosball, among others.

Though Grand Lexis Port Dickson may seem to primarily focus on the leisure market, the property is also ideal for functions such as weddings, annual dinners and conferences. There are eight function rooms available here that, when combined, can accommodate up to 650 persons at one time, depending on the table and seating arrangement.In short, we conclude that Grand Lexis Port Dickson is definitely the place for those who seek indulgent weekend escape where guests are encouraged to remain sequestered and enjoy themselves with what the property has to offer..
