The Malaysia Mega Sale 2024 is set to not only enhance Malaysia’s appeal as a shopping haven but also stimulate economic growth and strengthen the nation’s position as a top tourist destination.

KUALA LUMPUR, 10 June 2024 – The highly anticipated Malaysia Mega Sale is making a grand return! Tourism Malaysia has officially announced the launch of the Malaysia Mega Sale 2024, marking it as a cornerstone initiative to drive impactful tourism promotional activities, with Mastercard as a key partner. This ambitious initiative not only aims to establish Malaysia as a premier shopping destination but also seeks to invigorate the national economy, encompassing sectors such as accommodation, gastronomy, and tourism.

Scheduled to commence from 15 June to 31 July 2024, the Malaysia Mega Sale 2024 will feature leading retailers and shopping malls across the country, offering enticing discounts of up to 85%. This strategic programme is designed to attract both domestic and international tourists, enhancing the overall travel experience in Malaysia.

The audience of the launch ceremony was also entertained by a spectacular fashion show featuring prolific local designers such as Karyaneka, Melinda Looi, Variante, and MAGlifestyle.

Fully supported by shopping mall operators, hotel associations, travel agencies, airlines, KTMB, and local tourism industry players, the campaign ensures that tourists enjoy a comprehensive and memorable shopping experience. Aligned with the national sales campaign slogan “MY Priceless Experience”, this initiative is projected to generate a substantial RM102.7 billion in tourism revenue for 2024.

The grand launch event was officiated by YB Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan, Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts & Culture Malaysia, and graced by the presence of Mr. Manoharan Periasamy, Director General of Tourism Malaysia, at Pavilion, Kuala Lumpur.

“In 2023, tourist expenditure was estimated to reach around RM60 billion, highlighting the resilience and potential of Malaysia’s tourism and retail sectors,” stated YB Khairul Firdaus Akbar Khan. “The national sales campaigns are expected to accelerate this recovery, driving both domestic and international tourist spending.”

He further announced that the national sales campaign for 2024 will be held twice: the Malaysia Mega Sale (15 June to 31 July) and the Year-End Sale (15 November to 31 December). Looking ahead to 2025 and 2026, the national sales campaign will be conducted three times a year on the following dates:
