We usually hit the water just before sunrise, the cold splash waking us up properly. 😂 To see the sunrise from under the surface is truly heavenly. @azreenyunus10 — Kota Belud, Sabah. It was my first trip to Kota Belud and it made such a lasting impression on me. Kota Belud is only 2 hours away from Kota Kinabalu. It serves as a view that is a contrast between the blue sea being next to a city full of building and the blue sky embellished with mountain tops. Mount Kinabalu or fondly known as Akinabalu by the locals is the highest mountain in Malaysia with an altitude of 4095m above sea level and the river water flows from the top of the mountain to villages around Kota Belud. Do not miss the chance to hike Bukit Bongol when you are in Kota Belud. The hike is between 2 to 3 hours and gives a good view of Mount Kinabalu and the mountain ranges that shadows Kota Belud.
