KUALA LUMPUR, 6th March 2012 – Berjaya Starbucks Coffee Sdn Bhd has introduced a new blend to its roast coffee family after more than four decades of expertise in sourcing, roasting and blending to create this perfect blend.

Starbucks master roasters took some of the world’s finest Arabica beans explored more than 80 recipes during the course of eight months before selecting the final coffees for Starbucks® Blonde Roast. To draw out its soft flavors, Starbucks® Blonde Roast has a shorter roast time, creating a premium, approachable and perfectly balanced cup of lighter-bodied coffee.“Not only does Starbucks® Blonde Roast provide Starbucks with an opportunity to reach a new category of coffee drinkers, but by organizing our coffees by Blonde, Medium, and Dark, it makes it easier for our customers to find the taste that appeals to them” said Sydney Quays, Managing Director of Berjaya Starbucks Coffee Company.The name Starbucks® Blonde Roast reflects Starbucks roasting artistry and style and indicates a coffee that is light bodied and flavorful. Coinciding with the launchof Starbucks® Blonde Roast in March is the introduction of new coffee packagingorganized by roast – Starbucks® Blonde Roast, Starbucks® Medium Roast, and Starbucks® Dark Roast.


Starbucks® Blonde Roast is offered in two blends:

Starbucks® Veranda Blend™
This Latin American blend combines the delicate nuances of soft cocoa and lightly toasted nuts. When brewed, this coffee’s mellow and soft flavors, as well as its light body and medium acidity, truly shine. Starbucks® Willow Blend ™
Described as bright and clean, this blend of Latin American and East African coffees offer subtle citrus flavors, creating a breezy, easy-to-drink cup.
