Starbucks Opens 5,000 Square-Foot Flagship Reserve Store to Celebrate 20 Years in Malaysia

Starbucks commemorates 20 years of delivering the Starbucks Experience with the opening of the Starbucks Reserve™ Berjaya Times Square.

Visitors can enjoy four new specialty beverages that were launched in conjunction with the opening

KUALA LUMPUR – Starbucks commemorates 20 years of delivering the Starbucks Experience to its customers throughout Malaysia with the opening of the Starbucks Reserve™ Berjaya Times Square. The store is located in the heart of the bustling commercial hub of Bukit Bintang in the country’s capital, Kuala Lumpur.

Created to bring customers closer to coffee than ever before, this Reserve™ store features two bars, a main bar that serves core Starbucks products as well as a coffee bar offering seven brewing methods, including pour-over, Chemex®, coffee press, siphon, Black Eagle espresso, Clover® and nitro cold brewing. Visitors can also enjoy a unique menu of Starbucks Reserve specialty coffee and beans, as rare and exotic as the other, which are brought to life by our baristas, called Coffee Masters.

Starbucks Reserve™ Berjaya Times Square joins locations in The Gardens Mall, Sunway Pyramid, SkyAvenue Genting Highlands, Publika, Desa Parkcity, Four Seasons Place Kuala Lumpur and Paradigm Mall Johor. The 5,000 square foot store features a hand-painted mural of the iconic Starbucks siren, a mythological creature that has been part of the brand since its inception in 1971. The mural was designed by Malaysian graffiti artist Kenji Chai, and it pays homage to Malaysia featuring traditional Iban motifs and elements of Malayan batik.

Inspiring coffee curiosity, Starbucks Reserve™ beans is a selection of the rarest, most extraordinary coffees sourced from around the world, and often from remote areas with limited harvests from lots as small as a family backyard. Visitors to the Starbucks Reserve™ Berjaya Times Square will be able to enjoy these unique Reserve™ beans in classic espresso beverages such as Cappuccino, Latte, Cortado and four Roastery inspired specialty drinks which makes their first appearance in Malaysia today. New! Reserve™ Shakerato Bianco – Meet your new favorite chilled coffee drink: the Shakerato Bianco, our twist on the Italian classic. This iced espresso drink is served with a shot of fior di latte (sweet cream) to produce a frothy and creamy beverage, similar in taste and texture to a decadent coffee ice cream.
New! Reserve™ Mocha – Made with our specially roasted Starbucks Reserve™ coffee beans, which are extracted into perfect shots of espresso and whisked into rich dark chocolate and steamed milk to produce a delectable cup of the finest Mocha beverage we have to offer. The Starbucks Reserve™ Mocha is available hot and iced.
New! Reserve™ Undertow – A shot of piping hot Starbucks Reserve™ espresso is suspended over chilled milk and sweet Vanilla Bean Syrup to create two distinct layers, with the dark espresso cascading past the silky white milk. The swift kick of the sweet cold milk neutralizes the heat of the freshly extracted espresso, allowing the beverage to travel smoothly through the taste buds.
