The Fave Hotel brand is part of a hospitality management company called Aston International Hotels, Resorts and Residences, headquartered in Jakarta, Indonesia. When Gaya Travel first set foot in the 97-room boutique hotel, Fave Hotel Langkawi has just been operational for a few weeks. Upon arrival, it was refreshing for us to see that the hotel opts for a sweepingly open design for its reception and lobby, which also extends further to include the Lime Café (the hotel’s all day diner), the bar and lounge area – all offering guests with remarkable sense of space.
By the way, we were told that the hotel’s signature dish, Chicken Chop, is popular among guests and worth a try.Based on what the Gaya Travel team saw, the ambience gives the impression that the hotel is truly accessible and fuss free. Its contemporary style attempts to deliver the hotel’s brand promise, which is ‘fun, fresh and friendly’. It was not difficult for guests to be caught up with the hotel’s hip and laidback vibe, suitable for those who are young at heart. The staff’s attentiveness and friendliness further enhance the guests’ experience.
During our stay, we noticed that the hotel’s guests were mostly foreign. We were informed that these foreign guests on average stay for at least three days, particularly those from Europe and Russia. The hotel is practically designed and emphasises more on functionality.Apart from the usual facilities such as food and beverage outlets, room service (until 11:00 p.m.), swimming pool, spa and free wireless fidelity (wi-fi) throughout the property, the hotel also has meeting rooms. Though the hotel seems to be primarily targetting leisure travellers, it also meets the needs of its business guests, especially corporations that organise retreats or incentive trips for its employees.
When staying at Fave Hotel Langkawi, we suggest that readers should wake up early and have breakfast by the pool before 8:30 a.m. to soak in the scenic view of the land located behind the hotel, which comprises paddy plots, swaying coconut trees and undulating terrain that is covered by untouched tropical forest. However, guests might want to move to a shaded area once the time approaches 9:00 a.m. because that is when Langkawi’s sunny weather starts to become humid and sweltering.
For those who prefer to add some activities during their stay at Fave Hotel Langkawi, Pantai Tengah beach is only between five and ten minutes’ stroll (depending on how fast you walk). The hotel also rents bicycles for RM5 per hour for guests who intend to venture further than where their legs could carry. At night, guests have the option to walk to nearby restaurants and pubs around Pantai Tengah and Pantai Cenang. On top of that, Kuah (Langkawi’s administrative and commercial centre) is only thirty minutes’ drive away.
Fave Hotel Langkawi currently offers really affordable rates: RM268 for a Superior Room and RM288 for a Deluxe Room. All of the beds in the rooms come in single or queen sizes. Due to its strategic location (being close to the most popular stretch of beaches in Langkawi and attractions) and its trendy atmosphere, the prices are indeed a bargain, especially for guests who seek comfort, convenience and peace of mind. Indeed, the hotel possesses a good mixture of style, functionality and value, making it ideal for those who seek simplicity and convenience when being in Langkawi.
