27 November 2015, Kota Kinabalu – Sony (Malaysia) – the winner of the combat mirror-less DSLR, the first runner up for the best DSLR series, and best camera brand in Malaysia during the recent Putra Award – takes invited Sony Alpha users to join the Sony Alpha Superworkshop held in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah from the 27th until the 28th November 2015.

This Superworkshop is the third workshop on Sony Alpha after Ipoh (25th-26th April 2015) and Melaka (23rd-24th August 2014). It was open to the public free of charge for all Sony Alpha owners. Sony (Malaysia) also provides complimentary accommodation, food and beverage to the participants.

Gathering of 36 participants from local and peninsula.


Besides gathering Sony Alpha users, the workshop intends to provide the users with hands-on techniques and share knowledge on photography. The workshop were facilitated by three facilitators: William Ooi, Mohd Nazri Sulaiman and Sham Kien Yee.

William, who is an experienced Sony trainer specialising in wedding and travel photography, shared his knowledge in conducting action photography, using steel wool and light imagery by using any kind of Sony Alpha camera.

Nazri, who is a Sabahan, taught the techniques on wedding and flash photography through hands-on tutorial and one-on-one training. Sony also provided two couples for the participants to practice their skills.

Kien Yee, with his over five years’ experience in photography and majored in landscape and portrait photography, taught the participants how to create creative photography that is minimum in cost but rich in sophistication.

For those who did not have full photography equipment, Sony (Malaysia) also loaned various camera products and accessories like lenses and flash guns to the participants during the programme.
