A December Stay at Concorde Hotel Singapore: Festive Vibes, Luxurious Comfort, and Eco-Friendly Excellence

Picture this: Orchard Road twinkling with festive lights, the hum of holiday shoppers, and dear old me – rolling with my luggage in hand – making my grand entrance into Concorde Hotel Singapore like a newly designed big corporation boss.

It was in December 2024, and the hotel’s charm had me at hello. You see, there’s something about arriving at a place where the décor whispers “luxury” and the doorman’s smile says, “You’ve made the right choice.”

Rooms That Feel Like Home (If Your Home Has Room Service)

Let’s start with the basics: my room.

Spacious, stylish, and with a bed so inviting, I nearly cancelled my evening plans just to dive into it.

Concorde Hotel Singapore’s Deluxe Room has all the essentials: a desk for work, a plush armchair for actual lounging, and an en-suite bathroom that makes guests feel like they have stepped into an upscale spa.

And the best part? The digital concierge. No fumbling with brochures or squinting over maps – it was all there at the touch of a button. Practicality meets panache, therefore I was deeply smitten.

There are 407 elegant rooms at Concorde Hotel Singapore to choose from: Deluxe with or without Balcony; Deluxe Plus with or without Balcony; Family Room (fits four perfectly); Premier Club Rooms; Suites; and Presidential Suite. For those with specific needs, wheelchair-accessible rooms are available upon request.

Sustainability is seamlessly integrated into the experience. The filtered drinking tap provides clean, refreshing water while contributing to environmental conservation by eliminating single-use plastic bottles. Shower amenities are provided in dispensers to decrease reliance on single-use plastic, an elegant nod to eco-conscious living.

Facilities: For When You’re Feeling Energetic (or Not)

The fitness centre is where I imagined I’d work off those holiday indulgences. I did one session (okay, half a session) and felt heroic.

The swimming pool, however, was more my speed. Nestled among lush greenery, it’s the kind of place where you float on your back and contemplate life’s big questions, like whether to order another sinfully refreshing mocktail afterwards.

The Premier Lounge is another highlight: it is an oasis of calm complete with snacks, coffee, and the vibe that says, “Stay as long as you like. We’ve got you.”

The Green Promises: Sustainability, but in a Cool Fashion

Here’s the thing: I’ve stayed in plenty of hotels, but Concorde’s commitment to the planet genuinely impresses me.

Under their Green Promises initiative, they’ve introduced a slew of eco-friendly measures.

From Rubi the Robot (a quirky little helper) to water filtration systems that ditch single-use plastics, every detail subtly sends the message “We care.”

They even have recycling bins (3R bins, they are called) thoughtfully dotted around the premises, encouraging guests and staff to actively participate in waste reduction.

Oh, and don’t get me started on the Spices Garden, which exemplifies the farm-to-table approach, a slice of nature that’s both pretty and purposeful.

It’s no wonder the hotel has bagged awards like the Singapore Hotel Sustainability Award 2023-2024, the prestigious Green Hotel Award (2017-2018), and the ASEAN Green Hotel Award (2022-2024). Kudos, Concorde Hotels and Resorts!

Spices Cafe: Impressive Buffets

Breakfast at Spices Cafe is worth getting out of bed for, even if that bed is enticingly comfortable.

The spread is a dream: think buttery croissants, perfectly scrambled eggs, and, my personal favourite, the hearty Nasi Lemak. The breakfast buffet includes an international spread, for example American, Indian, Chinese and Japanese fare.

Now, if the breakfast alone is impressive, lunch itself is nothing short of spectacular. The Singapore Flavours Buffet Lunch at Spices Cafe seems to be a love letter to the city’s culinary heritage, demonstrating affection at every bite.

The lunch highlights? The Oyster Omelette is crisp yet tender, the Nyonya Laksa packs a punch, and the Ayam Buah Keluak is rich and earthy.

Then there are the desserts: Durian Pengat and Kueh Charah that left me in a blissful food coma. Each dish tells a story, and I felt like an unexpected character, luckily being written into this delicious narrative.

A Hotel That Gets It Right

Concorde Hotel Singapore has a rich history that dates back to the early 2000s. The hotel now has become a favoured destination for both leisure travellers and business executives, maintaining a prominent position in Singapore’s hospitality landscape.

Staying true to its commitment to excellence and luxury, Concorde doesn’t just tick the boxes; it reinvents them.

A prime location, impeccable service, and a genuine commitment to sustainability, the hotel has everything going for it. But what truly sets it apart is the feeling that you’re not just staying in a hotel; you’re now being part of something special.

As I packed my bags and reluctantly checked out, I couldn’t help but think, “When can I come back?”
