Rasa Naluria Reimagines the Spirit of Sambal This Ramadan

As the crescent moon heralds the arrival of the holy month, Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur invites discerning diners to a Ramadan celebration that elevates Malaysia’s humblest staple into an art form.

From 26 February to 19 March 2026, the hotel’s signature farm-to-table venue, Tuai + Till, will host Rasa Naluria: Sambal Warisan, a seasonal dining experience designed to honour the rich tapestry of Malaysian craft and memory.

Located within the prestigious Tun Razak Exchange (TRX), the Kimpton Naluria made a sophisticated debut in Malaysia, offering a sanctuary where “Botanics Beyond Aesthetics” meets soulful hospitality.

This festive season, the hotel moves beyond the conventional, placing sambal at the heart of the table as the primary storyteller of the meal.

The Rasa Naluria experience is meticulously curated into two distinct phases, reflecting a journey from ancestral roots to modern celebrations. The inaugural week, running from 26 February to 4 March, pays homage to nostalgia and heritage by focusing on the earthy complexity of fermentation and gentle heat.

During this period, guests may savour the Gulai Tempoyak Ikan Patin, a river-heritage delicacy from Pahang paired with the smoky depth of Sambal Hitam. Other highlights include Sotong Bakar served with the rich Sambal Budu of Kelantan and Terengganu, and Pucuk Ubi Masak Lemak Putih, which elevates local greens through the vibrant Sambal Hijau of Padang.

Reflecting on the cultural significance of the menu, Paul Cunningham, General Manager of Kimpton Naluria Kuala Lumpur, notes that sambal has always been a reflection of Malaysian identity and the inspiring stories the nation celebrates.

“This year, we are honouring that legacy by making the many varieties of sambal the centrepiece of our curated culinary experience, creatively pairing it with both Malaysian dishes and Western favourites to showcase how it bridges flavours, connections and cultures together,” Cunningham shared.

He further emphasised that these dishes are particularly unique, as they are curated by the culinary team’s own childhood memories and prepared by chefs who grew up with these authentic flavours.

As the month progresses from 5 to 19 March, the narrative transitions into bold, energetic flavours characterised by grilled and roasted techniques.

This second phase features the indulgent Itik Salai Masak Lemak Cili Api, a luxury-forward dish served with Javanese Sambal Tomato, and Daging Masak Jintan, a robust beef dish reminiscent of intimate family dinners. Diners can also enjoy Ikan Bakar paired with zesty Sambal Mangga from Kedah and Perlis, showcasing the bright, explosive notes that define the modern Malaysian palate.

While the Nation of Sambal—ranging from fiery belacan to nutty kerisik—defines the meal, the buffet extends into a global celebration of flavours.

Guests are invited to indulge in a lavish spread of Snow Crab Legs, Slipper Lobster, and Tiger Prawns, or enjoy the aromatic Roasted Whole Lamb paired with Harissa Nasi Kabsa. For those seeking the comfort of tradition, an array of Lemang Pulut and Ketupat Palas accompanies house-made Serunding, ensuring the spirit of a Malaysian home remains ever-present. The evening concludes with sophisticated sweets, including Single-Origin Chocolate Mango Chilli and the nostalgic Serawa Durian with Pandan Roti Jala.

Set against a backdrop of Peranakan-inspired design and heritage motifs, Tuai + Till offers an elegant atmosphere for families and colleagues to reconnect.

The standard rate for this experience is RM 228 nett per adult and RM 114 nett per child, while senior citizens aged 60 and above enjoy a 50% discount. For those planning ahead, an early bird rate of RM 198 nett per adult is available for bookings made by 31 January 2026.
