This modern, 638-meter-long icon connects the city centre with Seberang Takir. Its distinctive structure, featuring four towers and a skywalk, gives it a resemblance to world-famous bridges, offering a truly unique experience. You can ascend to the observation deck to capture a panoramic view of the city, the river, and the sea—perfect for a memorable photography session, especially at dusk or night.
This charming drawbridge isn’t raised every day – it only lifts in a graceful salute when a tall sailing ship needs to pass underneath. Each time the drawbridge opens to let a vessel glide through, it costs MYR2,500, a small tribute that helps preserve one of Terengganu’s most magical and picturesque traditions, a delightful reminder that some things are still done the old-fashioned way, with pride and a touch of wonder.
Access to the tower/skywalk for photos requires a ticket: Adult price is MYR15 (children have a different rate). Standard opening hours for visitors are 10:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. (Sunday–Thursday); and until 10:00 p.m. on Saturdays and public holidays.

We also had a go at batik colouring and pattern printing using the clay resist technique, an experience that showcases the variety of modern and traditional batik methods. Equally fascinating was the demonstration of songket weaving, from ancient traditional techniques to the modern technology now used to produce this stunning heritage textile. Your visit concludes with a stop at the sales gallery, where a variety of handmade craft products are sold as souvenirs—a wonderful way to support the local artisans.
Pasar Payang is Kuala Terengganu’s most iconic market and a must-visit destination for anyone who wants to experience the vibrant local atmosphere. You will see the immense variety of traditional handicrafts that have defined Terengganu’s identity for generations.
Beyond textiles and crafts, the market is buzzing with vendors selling traditional foods like keropok lekor (fish crackers), satar (grilled fish parcels), local cakes, and spices, showcasing the state’s unique culinary tastes. Every corner is alive with colour and aroma, making this a truly unique visual and cultural experience. Pasar Payang is also the best place to find reasonably priced gifts and souvenirs, allowing you to shop while supporting the local community.
Singgang Budu Restaurant

Bowling at Terengganu Equestrian Resort
Have a fun bowling session at the centre located within the Terengganu Equestrian Resort. Besides being comfortable and enjoyable for unwinding, the prices here are very reasonable, starting from MYR6.50 (weekday) and MYR7.00 (weekend) for daytime sessions. The evening prices start around MYR7.00 and MYR7.50 depending on the category, with shoe and sock rentals only costing MYR2.00 each.

Pantai Pandak is ideal for taking photos, strolling along the shore, or just enjoying the gentle evening air. It’s a simple yet deeply calming location.
