Hong Kong’s First Airbus A350-1000 Comes Home

Aircraft is the catalyst for Cathay Pacific to launch new destinations and provide an enhanced travel experience. Cathay Pacific welcomed the newest member to its fleet as the first of its 20 Airbus A350-1000 aircraft prepares to fly from Toulouse, France to the airline’s home of Hong Kong today on a blend of biofuel. Eight of these aircraft will be delivered this year with the remainder to arrive by 2021. Cathay Dragon To Modernise And Expand Its Fleet After Signing A Memorandum Of Understanding For Single-Aisle Aircraft

Cathay Dragon has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU), preparatory to executing formal legal documentation, for the acquisition of 32 Airbus A321neo aircraft. The MOU, signed today between the Cathay Pacific Group and Airbus in Toulouse, France, is valued at approximately HK$31.7 billion at current list prices.  It is intended to see Cathay Dragon’s single-aisle fleet replaced and expanded from 2020. The new aircraft, which are scheduled to be delivered between 2020 and 2023, are intended to  replace Cathay Dragon’s existing single-aisle fleet of 23 aircraft, comprising 15 Airbus A320s and eight Airbus A321s. Cathay Dragon Welcomes Inaugural Flight to Kuala Lumpur

On 1 March 2017, Cathay Dragon celebrated its inaugural flight to KL International Airport (KLIA) as Flight KA725, an Airbus A330-300 departed Hong Kong International Airport and touched down at Gate C2 of the Satellite Building of KLIA. With the arrival of flight KA725, Kuala Lumpur marks Cathay Dragon’s third destination in Malaysia. The airline already operates 11 weekly flights to Penang and five weekly flights to Kota Kinabalu. In total, Cathay Dragon will soon be operating 44 weekly flights to Malaysia.
