Xiamen, renowned for its picturesque landscapes, vibrant economy, and unique cultural heritage, is a captivating destination that blends the beauty of traditional Chinese architecture with modern developments. The city is famous for its stunning coastal views, including the iconic Gulangyu Island, known for its colonial-era buildings, offering a serene escape from the bustling city life. Xiamen also boasts lush parks, ancient temples, and lively markets, making it a perfect destination for culture enthusiasts and nature lovers alike.
As a major economic hub in China, Xiamen is a key player in international trade, with a thriving port and booming high-tech industries. Its strategic location along the Taiwan Strait has made it a gateway for business and tourism between China and the rest of the world.
Whether you’re exploring its rich heritage, sampling its world-famous seafood, or discovering the city’s vibrant arts scene, Xiamen offers an unforgettable experience that blends the old with the new.
With the addition of Xiamen to its network, Batik Air will soon operate direct flights to nine major cities in China including Beijing, Changsha, Chengdu, Guangzhou, Haikou, Kunming, Zhangjiajie, and Zhengzhou, offering travellers a wide variety of options to explore China’s diverse culture and business opportunities, while connecting seamlessly to Batik Air’s extensive regional and international routes.
Batik Air Chief Executive Officer, Datuk Chandran Rama Muthy stated that as China’s economic growth continues to thrive, with a projected GDP growth rate of 4.5% in 2025, the demand for international travel and connectivity has increased, making this new route a valuable asset for fostering greater business and tourism flows between Malaysia and China.
“In line with China’s robust economic growth, we’re excited to introduce this new route, offering more opportunities for Malaysians and Chinese travellers alike to explore new business avenues and cultural experiences, strengthening bilateral ties in ways that go beyond just air travel,” he added.
