Marina Bay Sands Sets the Stage for A Weekend of Music, Fashion and Five-star Indulgence

This May, Singapore is buzzing with excitement as one of the world’s biggest pop stars, Lady Gaga, makes her way to the Lion City for a major tour performance – her only stop in Asia and with fans from across the region, including Malaysia, flying in for the occasion, Marina Bay Sands has emerged as the perfect base for a luxury getaway that blends music, culture, dining and style.

Just a 15-minute MRT ride from the National Stadium, Marina Bay Sands offers more than just a place to stay, it’s a destination that turns a concert trip into a full-blown indulgent weekend.

Stay in Style: Refined Luxury Awaits

Marina Bay Sands’’ newly refreshed Sands Collection rooms and suites set the stage for an elevated stay. This exclusive collection features  elegantly redesigned rooms and suites, each offering sweeping skyline, garden, or sea views through floor-to ceiling windows. Guests can unwind in spacious bathrooms, enjoy the convenience of modern walk-in wardrobes, and indulge in curated in-room touches from artisanal products and a handpicked wine selection to signature Jo Loves by Jo Malone amenities. With the recent completion of The Sands Collection, alongside the early completed Paiza Collection, the property now has a full inventory of approximately 1,850 rooms and suites.

Witness the prismatic Lady Gaga-themed Light & Water Show

From 15 to 24 May, members of the public can enjoy an outdoor spectacle with a limited-time run of the Lady Gaga-themed light and water show, held at 8.30pm and 9.30pm at the Event Plaza, Singapore, playing right after the original Spectra Light & Water Show at 8pm and 9pm. Orchestrated to the pulsating beats of Gaga’s hit songs Poker Face, Bad Romance and latest single Abracadabra, this special 11-minute rendition of Spectra will dazzle fans with a display of dancing fountain jets, colourful visual projections, beaming lasers, lava effects and signature graphics – reflecting the evolution of her iconic album concepts throughout the years.

This will be accompanied by a vibrant illumination of Marina Bay Sands’ façade in orange hues inspired by the colours of her latest album, from 7pm to 11.59pm each day.

Revisit Lady Gaga’s glorious fashion moments at Iris van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses

Before the lights and music begin, explore Iris Van Herpen: Sculpting the Senses, a new exhibition running till 10 August at ArtScience Museum, Singapore Widely celebrated for her bold, experimental and ever-evolving style, Lady Gaga has cemented her status as a fashion icon and continues to inspire designers and fans alike. She is also a muse for renowned Dutch designer Iris van Herpen – revered as one of the industry’s most revolutionary forces working at the intersection of art and science.

As part of the exhibition, fans can look forward to admiring over 140 of van Herpen’s spellbinding creations up close – some of which have been worn by Lady Gaga herself. This includes two dresses from van Herpen’s Sensory Seas collection donned by the popstar during her Chromatica era. In particular, the Hydrozoa dress was created using turquoise and purple abstract paintings intended to evoke ocean life, made from a wave of fine laser-cut PETG arches that are heat-bonded to numerous layers of digitally printed glass organza. As it moves, the structure of the dress recalls how coral waves gently back in forth in the water.

Meanwhile, worn by Lady Gaga in 2011 to Nevermind nightclub, Sydney, van Herpen’s Radiation Invasion dress makes visible the electromagnetic waves and digital information that invades our bodies on a daily basis, composed of a multitude of shimmering wave forms and golden metal straps that are hand-sewn onto vegan leather.
