Mouth-watering Affair at Courtyard by Marriott Melaka’s Singgah Selera Buffet

Muslims, including foodies from all other backgrounds, who seek distinctive dishes during iftar (Muslim breaking of fast) this Ramadan can head to the Courtyard by Marriott Melaka, which offers more than 100 types of food.

Various iftar dishes are offered at the all-day dining outlet Courtyard Cafe’s Singgah Selera Buffet, leaving diners spoilt for choice when deciding what dishes to savour.

If you are unsure where to begin, start with Courtyard by Marriott Melaka’s signature specialty: the sekaki (foot-long) satay, offering a tender meat texture marinated with various spices.

Other mouth-watering options for breaking fast are bubur lambuk (rice boiled into a thick congee with a medley of spices and meat, typically beef), roasted lamb with Middle Eastern flavours, and ‘gear box’ soup (a popular Malaysian bone marrow soup made from a bull’s knee joint).

Singgah Selera Buffet also offers a variety of fresh seafood, including nasi kandar (a popular Malaysian dish originating from Penang that consists of steamed rice served with a variety of curries and side dishes, influenced by Indian cuisine) that is not normally found in Melaka. Gaya Travel team’s favourites from the buffet other than the satay and nasi kandar are the salted egg soft shell crab and serawa durian (a Malaysian dessert made from durian flesh cooked in coconut milk, sugar, and often pandan leaves).

The dishes at Singgah Selera Buffet are available from 4 until 29 March 2025, with prices set at RM168 nett for adults, and RM90 nett for children aged five to 12 as well as senior citizens aged 60 and above.
