Kuala Lumpur, 18 September 2023 – Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur has recently unveiled a pioneering sustainability initiative by launching the latest All-Electric Mercedes Benz EQE car for its limousine service. This move towards sustainable transportation is a partnership between Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, Mercedes Benz Malaysia, Naza Wheels, and Metro Travel, emphasizing the hotel’s commitment to both luxury and environmental responsibility.
With a shared vision to reduce the carbon footprint and advocate for eco-friendly practices, this joint initiative showcases the commitment of these industry leaders towards a greener future. The electric car, designed and manufactured by Mercedes, is set to redefine urban transportation with its cutting-edge technology, seamless design, and environmental considerations.
The launch event, held on August 14th, was graced by a distinguished group of individuals. Among the notable attendees were Chief Operating Officer of NZ Wheel – Mr. Nithiyaraj Vegayathunam, Vice President of Sales & Marketing at Mercedes Benz – Ms. Bettina Plangger, Regional Sales Manager Mr. Clement Yeo, Head of Sales Mr. David Tan, and Ms. Lillian from Metro Travels. Shangri-La’s Resident Manager, Mr. Sachin Tyagi, along with his team, warmly welcomed the esteemed guests during the event, which took place over a delightful afternoon tea at the Lobby Lounge.

In September 2023, the EQE electric car model will be available for guests at Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur, positioning the hotel as a regional pioneer by offering an eco-friendly mode of transportation. To further this initiative, Shangri-La Kuala Lumpur will strategically install electric chargers on its premises, ensuring a seamless and efficient charging experience for the EQE vehicles.
