Galeri PETRONAS Launches ‘ALEGORI’ Publication Documenting Malay Cultural Heritage in Classical Manuscripts
KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 18 – GALERI PETRONAS yesterday launched a publication to complement its ongoing ALEGORI: Contemporary Art Expressions from Malay Manuscriptsexhibition which explores the concepts and metaphorical thinking derived from classical Malay manuscripts. The ALEGORI publication, a collaborative effort between GALERI PETRONAS and the Malaysian Institute of Translation & Books (ITBM), is a collection of essays from Malay manuscripts that reflect the original thinking and wisdom of the Malay society. The publication examines the ancient laws and practices entrenched behind strong values and culture that remain prevalent in society’s current pursuit of modern civilization.
