Trip.com Malaysia Employees Build 30 Bicycles for Local Orang Asli Communities
KUALA LUMPUR, 24 September 2025 – Trip.com Malaysia employees recently came together in a meaningful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiative to assemble 30 brand-new bicycles for Orang Asli communities in Pahang. The activity, which brought together over 65 employees in a joint bike-building effort, reflects the company’s steadfast commitment to supporting and uplifting underprivileged communities in Malaysia.
The initiative was carried out in partnership with the Great Heart Charity Association, a non-profit platform in Malaysia. Through this collaboration, Trip.com Malaysia successfully donated bicycles to three separate Orang Asli villages located in Pahang:
- Kampung Sawak Tebu Hitam, Kuala Rompin
- Kampung Simpai, Bebar, Muadzam Shah
- Kampung Selengkong, Nenasi, Pekan

Located in remote areas roughly 20-35km away from the nearest towns, all three villages have limited access to public facilities and essential utilities. The bicycles provide the villagers with a much-needed mobility for school, work – including travelling to farms and fishing spots – and other daily needs.
“These bicycles serve as more than just a new means of transport. They also open up opportunities for these villages to have improved access to education, employment, and basic necessities,” said Ms Stephane Thong, General Manager of Trip.com Malaysia. “This initiative is rooted in our global mission to forge a better future for travel and to create lasting positive impact. We are proud to support the Orang Asli community and hope that the bicycles will ease everyday challenges for many families.”
With this initiative, Trip.com Malaysia reaffirms its dedication to being a responsible travel provider, championing community outreach programmes that not only give back to society but also contribute towards building a more sustainable future.
