Ever since the 2012 Olympic Games, London has been blessed with a wonderful Olympic Park. Inside the old Olympic village, it regularly holds events across a myriad of different locations for tourists and locals to attend, as well charity events raising awareness on many global issues.

For the rest of 2016, as London welcomes tourists into the city during the colder months of the year, the Olympic Park will continue to put on a slew events each week.

So, if you’re travelling to London before the end of the year, and want to visit the famous Olympic Park, what can you expect?

1. Climbathon – October 26, 2016

Climate change is an ongoing problem, and every year 120 cities around the world attempt to raise the awareness of these ongoing issues by holding hackathon-style events. This year’s event in London will be held at the White Building in the Olympic Park and will concentrate on the issues of air quality and pollution.

The event will attempt to “identify and analyse issues effectively, create a cultural change through creative design and enable change through technical innovation.” It will also aim to encourage all the people in attendance to live a sustainable life and reduce their carbon footprint.

2. Undead Escape – October 28-29, 2016

The Walking Dead paved the way for an avalanche of zombie thrillers. We’ve seen tonnes of movie and television series based on the flesh eating “walkers” and so it would only seem fitting that the Olympic Park had their very own zombie-themed event this year.

In the Undead Escape, participants will have to investigate an off-the-radar facility where they are likely to be met with a hoard of flesh hungry zombies. Participants must run, jump and hide to avoid being eaten (well, not really eaten) by the undead. If successful, you’ll be met with an ‘End of the World Disco’ to celebrate your passage back into the real world.

3. Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 10km Series – November 5, 2016

If you want to keep fit while on your travels, look no further than the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park 10km Series, which is held in the first week of every month. The route goes past many of the iconic landmarks that were a core part of the 2012 Olympic Games including the Olympic Stadium which held all the track and field events.

4. England Vs. Australia (Four Nations Rugby League) – November 13, 2016

If you are a keen sports fan, then why not go and watch some international rugby? England and Australia have had an intense rivalry since the inception of the sport, and they haven’t met since the 2013 World Cup. What also makes the game interesting is that Australia are the current world champions.

The likelihood is that the game is going to sell out quick, so its advisable to buy tickets ASAP.

5. West Ham United Vs. Arsenal – December 3, 2016

Although it’s not quite an international game like the aforementioned rugby match, this London derby will be one to savour and tell your friends about for years to come. At the start of this campaign, West Ham moved into the 60,000 seater Olympic Stadium and now play all their home games at the venue. However, Premier League news site Betfair question whether West Ham will do any good in a stadium that could potentially be too big for the East London team .Additionally, The Guardian feels the club are having some “teething issues”  as they try to adapt to such a massive stadium.

Regardless of West Ham’s poor league position, that shouldn’t deter you from buying a ticket to witness the beauty of the Olympic Stadium. It’s a work of art as far as football stadiums go, and one the English are certainly proud to visit.
