Berjaya Hotels & Resorts Wins Prestigious Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards (HAPA) 2013-2015 Malaysia Series

KUALA LUMPUR, JANUARY 2014 – Berjaya Hotels & Resorts (BHR) is honoured to be among the winners of the prestigious Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards (HAPA) 2013-2015 Malaysia Series. BHR competed against a number of hoteliers in the region to achieve these accolades, which were conferred at a high profile gala and presentation dinner at the One World Hotel recently.

The hospitality arm of the Malaysian conglomerate Berjaya Corporation bagged itself four prestigious accolades at the esteemed Hospitality Asia Platinum Awards (HAPA). Triumphing in the “Industry Recognition Awards”, “Flavours of Hospitality” and “Passions of Hospitality” categories respectively, BHR won these awards for which it was elected, chosen after a diligent judgement process of site inspections, interviews and food tastings over the course of almost a year. Evaluations were carried out by a discerning Panel of Judges, consisting of respected and experienced individuals from the industry as well as the corporate and business worlds, before the favoured winners were selected.

HAPA MASTERCHEF (ASIAN) – MASTER OF AUTHENTICITY

• Awarded to the most talented Chef who practices a modern and yet authentic approach associating usual and unusual flavors to execute delightful food preparation and presentation of all types of Asian Cuisine.
  BEST 10: Chef Thitikorn Chenwitchu, Berjaya Times Square Hotel – Kuala Lumpur

Presented by Tourism and Culture Minister Datuk Seri Nazri Aziz, the award was created to honour hospitality leaders who have persevered through adversity and who have seamlessly raised the standards of hospitality through developing a breed of exquisite hotels, resorts and serviced residences regarded by critics as some of the world’s best destinations, a testament to all that Tan embodies. The HAPA Lifetime Achievement Award honours Tan Sri Vincent Tan as a prominent and outstanding individual who has contributed largely to the hospitality industry in this part of Asia.
