The upcoming 14th General Election or GE14 will probably be the most highly anticipated moment in Malaysian history.

The Election Commission (EC) has announced that May 9, Wednesday, will be the voting day for the majority of Malaysians, with an early voting day on May 5 for voters living abroad and military and police personnel.

May 9 has also been declared to be a public holiday, so if you live far away from your polling station, fulfilling your responsibility as a voter may not be an issue.

If you’re unsure of your voter polling station, you can check it online now via the EC website, the MYSPR Semak mobile apps (iOS and Android), by calling 03-8892 7018 or sending an SMS to 15888.

Once you know where your voter polling station is, it’s time to decide how you’re going to travel back home, whether you’re in the country or abroad.

If you haven’t purchased any transportation ticket yet, we’ve found some great transportation waivers and offers for Malaysians to travel back home for GE14.
