Samui is a magical island located in the Gulf of Thailand, with white sandy beaches and clear turquoise coloured sea water with beautiful coral reefs at the bottom of the sea and colourful fishes swimming around. But what elevates my experience in Samui to the level of perfection was my stay at the luxurious Chaweng Regent Beach resort, which I considered simply as the ultimate paradise for travellers. With some chalets, villas and even bungalows facing the magnificent beach of Chaweng, this is the place to stay, the place to dine out and the IT resort in town
Chaweng Regent Beach Resort is strategically located by the Chaweng beach and a short walk away from the vibrant Chaweng town, where you can easily find shops, bars, restaurants and all sorts of things. The first time I stepped in the resort, I was mesmerised by the tropical jungle concept applied throughout the property.
The architecture is environmentally friendly and breathtaking at the same time – who would have thought of having a villa in every spot of the resort and be surrounded with lush greenery? If you are a smoker or even having the thought of lighting up, it is wise to take note that Chaweng Regent Beach Resort is in support of the world’s concern with regard to health and environmental issues, thus the resort is a designated non-smoking property and refrains guests from smoking in the rooms. Beautiful and healthy, those are the two right words for Chaweng Regent.
The property provides 139 rooms and offers a myriad of facilities and activities for guests to enjoy the property. There are seven types of rooms that are available here in Chaweng Regent Beach Resort: Superior Bungalow, Deluxe Regency, Deluxe Villa, Deluxe Bungalow, Premier Room and The Spa Villa Suite, where you can choose and turn these spacious rooms into your own private hideaways surrounded by tropical jungle.
I was given the opportunity to stay in a Deluxe Regency Room. It may look modest from the outside, but as soon as you enter the room, you will be amazed at the room’s modern contemporary design, balanced by two Thai statues that lent an aura of traditional ambience. Rooms are spacious with a touch of elegance and exotic culture.
There was a daybed located adjacent to the bed – you might want to watch your step as they have a small staircase that leads you from the front door to your bed. With two different toilets for different purposes, the bathtub is placed in the middle, next to tinted windows for guests to view one of the resort’s swimming pools and enjoy the beautiful scenery.
With free wi-fi internet access to upload your pictures having a blast in Thailand on Facebook and fully equipped air-conditioned rooms to cool you off while the sun blazes outside, guests can be rest assured of the property’s reliable amenities. After a long tiring day at the beach, guests can simply turn on the plasma television with countless channels or just chill out the whole day. For ladies, they may head to the beauty salon in getting their hair done, including manicure and pedicure. Children will enjoy Chaweng Regent Beach Resort’s two refreshing pools, while those who need to keep fit and trim can head to the resort’s Fitness Centre, which is open from 8 a.m. until 9 p.m. every day.
The resort also provides fun recreational activities to its guests such as snorkelling or kayaking. For guests who prefer more challenging water sports, they can try their hands on windsurfing or deep sea-fishing. Koh Samui is also near to Koh Phangan, an island that is famous for its Full Moon Festival Party where guests can party from 8 p.m. until the next morning. Don’t worry about where to buy tickets or the travel tours – Chaweng Regent Beach Resort’s own personnel will be able to help guests out.
All that non-stop night partying at Koh Phangan would leave guests exhausted and worn out. To sober up in the most tranquil and relaxing way, why not try the resort’s health spa?
Chaweng Regent Beach Resort is equipped with a new age health spa that is set to indulge all guests called The Escape Spa. It prides itself with state-of-the-art facilities, highly-trained staff and a wide range of effective treatments and packages for guests to pamper their minds, bodies and souls. Holistic treatments include various types of massages, facials, body scrubs and body wraps.
Dining is no object at Chaweng Regent Beach Resort since it boasts several food and beverage outlets that guests can choose from. One of the outlets is Red Snapper Bar Grill, located just beside the Chaweng Beach Road. Its sleek ambience and the energetic atmosphere kept making their customers coming back for more, apart from the food. Serving only Mediterranean cuisine developed by their highly skilled French chef, Sebastian Meunier, it is not a surprise that the restaurant has been awarded by Thailand’s Tatler magazine as the best restaurant in Thailand for 2009 and 2010.
Another outlet, which is located at the beach front, is called Chom Talay and offers mouth-watering Asian and Western cuisine. Guests can enjoy the sea breeze or the sunset while dining with family members, friends and loved ones while listening to the soothing jazzy music.
Chaweng Regent Beach Resort is indeed the place where guests can find tranquillity, serenity, fun activities while being surrounded by greenery and jungle-like environment all rolled into one. Obviously, the property has it all.
