First TV Home Shopping to offer holiday destinations as a product

CJ WOW SHOP, Media Prima Television Network’s innovative home shopping network that integrates television, online and mobile platforms, is introducing a brand new ‘product’ to consumers – a 5D/4N skiing holiday package to Korea’s premium Vivaldi Park in Ganwon Province.

Called the VIVA K-Winter Festival, the new holiday package is the first ever being offered on a Malaysian TV home shopping network and is priced at RM2,400 per adult/ RM1,200 per child under 12 years old. This exclusive travel package includes not only shuttle service, Muslim-friendly food, accommodation and facilities at the premium Daemyung Resort, it also include skiing lessons and ski attire rental, horse-riding activities, visits to an indoor ocean world and Jjimjilbang, a large, gender-segregated public bathhouse, K culture-related activities plus a two-day stopover in Seoul City.

CJ WOW SHOP Chief Executive Officer Kim Yang Hyun said, interested viewers will only need to provide their personal details and a certified travel agent will follow up and contact the viewers for necessary arrangements and payment.

“The holiday package offered, however, is not inclusive of flight tickets. Customers are free to choose and make their own arrangements, or they can have the contacting travel agent to assist them,” said Kim, assuring that the package offered is in partnership with the Korea Tourism Organisation.

He said that while offering holiday packages via TV home shopping may be new in Malaysia, the concept is already quite common in Korea. “In fact, CJ O, our parent company for home shopping network, even offers various holiday packages, insurance schemes, vehicles, houses and fresh meat as part of our inventory,” he disclosed.

To encourage customers to take up the holiday package offering, Kim said travellers should take advantage of the various travel fairs that is constantly organised in the country in order to get the best deals for flights.

“Perhaps in the future, our holiday packages will include flight tickets,” he said, adding that CJ WOW SHOP is currently in talks with several airline companies to boost the company’s travelling inventory.
