Group Executive Chef Dale Gartland Achieves 10 Years of Service Milestone

When the boy from Shropshire arrived fresh from the kitchens at UK Relais & Chateaux property Gidleigh Park to spend a summer cooking at Kauri Cliffs, he only planned to stay for a season. Dale now celebrates 10 years with our family of lodges – moving steadily upward from consecutive head chef roles at Kauri Cliffs, The Farm at Cape Kidnappers, and Matakauri Lodge before becoming Group Executive Chef over all three lodges.Dale’s enthusiasm and ability to tackle any challenge is a credit to him. This attitude has served Dale well when cooking on MasterChef New Zealand or at fabulous events such as the Heston Blumenthal & Thomas Keller dinner. He has also cooked aboard Silverseas Cruises and has recently returned from a guest chef role at the members only The Hong Kong Country Club, and he’s already booked for a special dinner in Melbourne in March 2014 as part of the Melbourne Food & Wine Festival.Take a bow, Dale!
