Melting Pot Café’s new menu is divided into Malaysian Favourite Set Menu and Contemporary Western Dishes.

Gaya Travel team had the opportunity to try out a few delicacies featured in the Malaysian Favourite Set Menu such as the Stir-Fried Koay Teow Butternut Pumpkin Soup and Spicy Concorde Fried Rice. While the slightly sweet and savoury Stir-Fried Koay Teow was flavourful and served in a generous portion, it was the Spicy Concorde Fried Rice that won us over because it reminded us of homemade comfort food with its frilly-edged fried egg, succulent fried chicken wing, faintly spicy sambal udang, acar jelatah and crispy fish crackers. The thick Butternut Pumpkin Soup topped by crispy salmon strips served with garlic bread was delightful and creamy – guests are recommended to order more garlic bread to truly savour the soup.

Other signature dishes that fall under the Malaysian Favourite Set Menu are Ibunda Fried Rice with anchovies and fish crackers, Grilled Seabass with garlic sour sauce and Thai Chicken Paprik. Local dishes like Roti Jala, Cucur Jemput, Roti Kahwin and Kajang Satay are also offered in order to give the menu a strong Malaysian sense.

As for the Contemporary Western Dishes, the chef also offers a comprehensive range of pasta such as Angel Hair Pasta with Prawn, Calamari Trio Capsicum, Tagliatelle Alfredo, Vegetarian Penne Arabiata and Vegetarian Spaghetti Aglio Olio. Plus, there is an extensive amount of fresh pizzas with pineapples and various toppings for pizza lovers to indulge.

Moreover, the Pastry Kitchen team recommends the Bittersweet Chocolate Dome, Pearl Lychee Orange Panacotta and Mango Puff Dacquoise Cake, to name a few. Guests are definitely spoilt for choice when dining at Concorde Shah Alam’s Melting Pot Café throughout 2015.
