Dorsett Kuala Lumpur Hosts Aussie Cultural Night as Part of Its Dorsett Hour Campaign
Dorsett Kuala Lumpur recently had organised a lively “Australian Affair” night at its Alamanda Ballroom, in collaboration with the Guildford Grammar School of Perth, Western Australia. It is a part of the Dorsett Hour campaign, which is the group’s brand initiative to provide an opportunity for the group’s associates to mingle with the hotel guests and clients, and to understand more about their needs in order to deliver a personalised, engaged and remarkable stay experience.
There were close to 70 guests who showed up at the event, all experienced an authentic Aussie cultural night with some traditional performances and scrumptious array of Western delights served buffet-style from the classic Fish & Chips, Meat Pie to Trio of Apple Strudel and Pavlova as well as Lamington.
The exclusive Dorsett Wine Hour was attended by VVIPs including Ms. Winnie Chiu, J.P President & Executive Director of Dorsett Hospitality International, Datin Jasmine Abdullah Heng, Vice Chairman of Dorsett Hospitality International and Mr. Clarence Wong, Chief Operations Officer of Dorsett Hospitality International, South East Asia & China.
“Dorsett Hour is a weekly 1-hour affair and normally a rather intimate one with max of 20 guests. Every so often we also do bigger events like this one where we collaborate with lifestyle and community driven events to enhance your experience with Dorsett and echoing DHI’s brand promise – ‘Stay Vibrant’!” said Adele Ang, General Manager of Dorsett Kuala Lumpur.
The night began with a surprise opening act by three brilliant young dancers from the traditional Boodjar Bidi Dance Troupe who caught everyone’s attention with their traditional dance routines and completely engaging stories. ‘Boodjar Bidi’ here means, ‘country pathways’ in the language of the Whadjuk Noongar people of Western Australia.
Led by the charming Mr. Kieran Hurley, Director of Music of the Guildford Grammar School, and the equally talented Mr. Mark Underwood, the Senior School Music Teacher, the night was filled with stellar performances by the young talents from Guildford Grammar Motown Band. They performed timeless classics like Diana Ross’s “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”, Prince’s “Purple Rain”, Adele’s “Skyfall”, The Temptations’ “My Girl” and many others.
The “Australian Affair” event came at a right time when Dorsett Hospitality International is about to have it’s first footprint in Australia, starting from Dorsett Gold Coast in 2021, followed by Dorsett Perth, Dorsett Melbourne and Dorsett Brisbane.
