Coming March, Malaysia will once again host a fiesta like no other in the country. The announcement came at an exclusive launch event held today at the Kompleks Perbadanan Putrajaya, which was officiated by Minister of Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing, Yang Berhormat Dato’ Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin.
With the increasing yearly media publicity and the evolving program size, larger crowds are expected to visit the 4th Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta, themed “1 World, 1 Malaysia, 1 Fiesta”. The whole fiesta venue, Monumen Alaf Baru, which has been graciously provided by Perbadanan Putrajaya, the administrative arm of the city of Putrajaya; is projected to host thousands of local and international visitors over the four-day fiesta from March 15th to March 18th 2012.
“Spectators are to be treated to a larger and more varied 4-day event. At this point, more than 20 normal uniquely balloons from all over the world including the United States, Belgium, Poland, Netherlands, France, Thailand and other neighbouring countries will be on display for all to admire and in addition. Visitors to the fiesta can also look forward to participating in the many side activities for the whole family to enjoy.” said, Mr. Khairudin Abdul Rani, CEO of AKA Balloons Sdn Bhd, the main event organizer of the Putrajaya International Hot Air Balloon Fiesta
Mr. Khairudin also added that the 2012’s fiesta will see the return of the ever highly-anticipated “night glow” event where the hot air balloons will participate in a light and sound show on the night of the 17th; culminating in a beautiful display of fireworks.
The 2012 fiesta is also expected to see the return of highly popular side-activities such as helicopter rides, tethered hot air balloon rides, street touch rugby, bicycle exhibition, extreme sporting activities as well as a line-up of exciting activities for the young ones such as coloring contests, on-ground competitions and many more.
