When I decided to explore Kuala Lumpur for three days and two nights, I knew I was signing up for a whirlwind adventure. Little did I realise how much this city would pack in 72 hours!
The following are my cheesy laughter-filled account of all the incredible (and delicious) places I discovered in Kuala Lumpur, which you should experience too…
Day 1: Sweet Starts, Underwater Wonders, and Kampung Magic

Start Sweet at KLCG Confectionary and Bakery
My Kuala Lumpur adventure started on a sweet note at KLCG Confectionary and Bakery’s Jalan Ampang branch. The bakery is famous for its artisanal cakes, fresh pastries, and vibrant atmosphere. I indulged in a decadent slice of the bakery’s signature burnt cheesecake that is as rich and creamy as can be seen on Instagram. I paired it with a cup of the bakery’s specialty coffee so that I could perfectly start to my day.

Unleash Your Inner Kid at SuperPark Malaysia
Next, I unleashed my inner child at SuperPark Malaysia, an all-in-one indoor activity centre packed with thrilling games and challenges, located within Avenue K Shopping Mall. From testing my agility on trampolines to racing through obstacle courses, it was a non-stop adrenaline rush. SuperPark Malaysia is perfect for families, groups of friends, or solo travellers looking for a fun workout.
Savor Lunch at Peony by Canton Boy
For lunch, I dined at Peony by Canton Boy’s branch in Avenue K Shopping Mall, a contemporary Cantonese restaurant offering a mix of traditional flavours and modern presentations. The restaurant’s dim sum is delicious, especially the prawn dumplings and barbecue buns, whereby each bite packed with authentic flavours.
Explore Aquaria KLCC
From food haven to underwater paradise, my next stop was Aquaria KLCC, a world-class aquarium located in the heart of the city. Walking through the underwater see-through tunnel that allows visitors to witness the sharks, rays, and schools of colourful fish swimming by is a surreal experience. The aquarium’s jellyfish exhibit and the fish feeding sessions are particular standouts.
Check-In at Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur
After a packed day, I checked into Hotel Maya Kuala Lumpur, a sleek and modern boutique hotel near to Suria KLCC. The room is spacious, and the floor-to-ceiling windows offer a stunning view of the surrounding city skyline.
Discover Kampung Baru on a Walking Tour by Magical Kampung Baru
In the evening, I joined a guided walking tour of Kampung Baru, one of the last remaining traditional Malay villages in the city, led by the tour guide from Magical Kampung Baru. The contrast between the traditional Malay wooden stilt houses and the future-forward Petronas Towers as the backdrop is fascinating. The guide shared stories of the area’s history and cultural significance, making the experience both educational and eye-opening.
Day 2: Heritage, Fun, and a Feast of Spices

Hammer Away at the School of Hard Knocks in the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre
The second day of my Kuala Lumpur exploration began with the hands-on experience at the pewter-making workshop called School of Hard Knocks at the Royal Selangor Visitor Centre, where I learned to craft my own pewter bowl. This pewter-making class is both fun and insightful, offering a glimpse into Malaysia’s pewter-making tradition. The personalised pewter bowl I created was a unique keepsake to take home.
Visit Pustaka Peringatan P. Ramlee
Next, I visited Pustaka Peringatan P. Ramlee, a museum dedicated to Malaysia’s legendary multi-talented entertainer. The exhibits showcase P. Ramlee’s life, works, and contributions to music and cinema. From old movie posters to his personal belongings, the museum is a touching tribute to Malaysian’s national icon, whose influence on the Malaysian entertainment scene still can be felt until today.
Lunch Like a Local at Saprah KL
I then had my lunch at Saprah KL, a dining experience that blends food and tradition. Meals here are served on a saprah (woven mat) and dishes are meant to be shared by more than one person to promote community spirit and encourage a sense of togetherness among the diners, similar to kampung-style dining. The restaurant’s rendang daging (beef rendang) and ulam (herb salad) are particularly delightful and worth a second helping.
Thrills at Berjaya Times Square Theme Park
Post-lunch, I headed to Berjaya Times Square Theme Park, an indoor amusement park located inside one of Kuala Lumpur’s largest shopping malls. The Supersonic Odyssey roller coaster is a highlight in this theme park; it’s not for the faint-hearted but totally worth it! I also enjoyed the Virtual Reality rides and carnival games.
Dine at ROTI by D’Tandoor
For dinner, I treated myself to Indian cuisine at ROTI by D’Tandoor. The restaurant’s freshly baked naan, butter chicken, and biryani rice are truly divine. The restaurant’s cosy ambiance and attentive service further makes dining here unforgettable.
Day 3: History, Iranian Delights, and Nature

Discover History at Memorial Tun Hussein Onn
On my final day of exploring Kuala Lumpur, I visited Memorial Tun Hussein Onn, dedicated to Malaysia’s third prime minister, dubbed as Malaysia’s Father of Development. The museum offers an in-depth look at his contributions to the nation, with exhibits showcasing personal items, photographs, and key moments from his tenure.
Step Back in Time at Memorial Tunku Abdul Rahman
A short distance away was the Memorial Tunku Abdul Rahman, which honours Malaysia’s first prime minister. The exhibits here provide insights into the country’s journey to independence and Tunku’s role in shaping Malaysia’s modern history.
Lunch at Convivencia Cafe
For lunch, I swung by Convivencia Cafe, a delightful spot serving Mediterranean-plus-Arabic-inspired cuisine. The warm and welcoming atmosphere perfectly complemented the menu featuring dishes such as Ghormeh Sabzi Herb Stew, a fragrant and hearty dish packed with herbs and tender meat, and Diced Mutton Gheimag, a delectable stew paired with saffron-infused rice. For dessert, I treated myself to baklava, layers of flaky pastry filled with nuts and honey, paired with Iranian Tea served with Saffron Candy. The tea was aromatic and soothing, the perfect balance to the sweetness of the baklava.
Relax at Perdana Botanical Garden
I ended my Kuala Lumpur adventure at the Perdana Botanical Garden, an oasis of greenery in the city. With its scenic walking paths, serene lakes, and diverse plant species, it is a refreshing escape from the urban bustle. The Orchid Garden and Sunken Garden are worth checking out, offering picture-perfect moments at every turn.
