Nusajaya, 26 November 2014 – LEGOLAND® Malaysia Resort today unveiled exciting Holiday Extravaganza celebrations for the year-end holiday season. The focal point of the celebration is a brand new festive show with a cast flown in especially from Europe that’s performing at the newly renovated air-conditioned LEGO® City Stage. For the whole month of December, the Resort will stay open until 8pm so families can stay longer and enjoy the evening light-up of the LEGO Christmas tree, LEGOLAND Advent Calendar giveaways and carolling activities.
The enhancements carried out at the LEGO City Stage mean guests can now enjoy the entertaining shows and performances, created for the whole family, in a cooler and more comfortable indoor environment. From now to January 2015, the City Stage is showing a festive musical show, ‘When Santa Got Stuck Up the Chimney’, specially created for LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort Holiday Extravaganza.
“We’ve given the LEGO City Stage a refreshing new look and feel, and we are delighted to have it ready in time for the festive season. Our new show has already started and has been getting great feedback from our guests,” said Mark Germyn, General Manager, LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort.
The Resort is the ideal Christmas holiday destination for families with children 2-12 years old. It brings together a Theme Park, Water Park and Hotel in one LEGO® themed location. As well as the rides, slides, shows and attractions, guests can enjoy a host of interactive festive activity during the Holiday Extravaganza at LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort. The highlight of the Holiday Extravaganza this year will be a LEGOLAND advent calendar installation.
The rectangular installation features 24 windows, one for each day of December leading up to Christmas day. Every evening at 7pm a lucky guest will have the chance to open a window and win the special prize hidden behind it. Prizes that are sure to make the holidays even more special this year have been sponsored by LEGOLAND Malaysia Resort’s partners. They include LEGO, Unilever, Maybank, Celcom, Edaran Tan Chong Motor, The Traders Hotel, Thistle Hotel, Pulai Springs Resort and many more.
Adding to the festivities this year is the daily lighting ceremony of the LEGO Christmas tree. It is made from 427,695 LEGO DUPLO bricks and measures almost nine metres high. The tree is even decorated with hand-built LEGO ornaments.
And for those who can’t wait for Santa to visit them, LEGOLAND Malaysia has the perfect solution. Guests will be able to visit the LEGO Santa model, which has been created using more than 250,000 LEGO bricks. There are also many special festive treats happening around the Park including carol singers, mascot appearances and Christmas themed LEGO building activities.
Families can also purchase their holiday gifts at the retail outlets. A range of LEGO Christmas products are available at this time of the year. This includes items such as advent calendars, LEGO baubles, Santa sleigh sets, holiday t-shirts and many more.
