New Taipei City & EVA Air Jointly Invite Malaysian Tourists to Explore the City’s Hidden Gems

From 20 till 22 September, New Taipei City Government and EVA Air will be organising the “New Taipei City, New Adventure!” Travel Fair at Nu Sentral Shopping Mall in Kuala Lumpur, featuring Shou Shin Bou, HiWalk, full-scale model of the popular Shen’ao Rail Bike for photo opportunities, and Jiufen CHIPAO, to introduce the newest and most popular tourist attractions along New Taipei City’s Mountain-Ocean Line, sharing the most delicious souvenirs, and conducting fun experiential activities – inviting Malaysians to gain firsthand experience of the excitement and beauty of New Taipei City.

The Launch of “New Taipei City, New Adventure” Promotion featuring Value-For-Money Travel Packages exclusively for Malaysians.

As part of “I Want to Visit New Taipei City” promotion campaign, anyone who purchases a tour package by EVA Air during the travel fair will receive a free New Taipei City Tour Guide Wallet and EVA Air stationery set, with the chance to win RSL Hotel Taipei Zhonghe Sweetheart Afternoon Tea Coupons, and F Hotel free weekday one-night stay voucher for two, Taoyuan Airport MRT memorial tickets, a special design iPass Card, and much more.

The public can also participate in a lucky draw and win a free EVA Air Kuala Lumpur–Taipei round- trip ticket by taking a picture in front of the photo wall during the event and upload it onto Instagram with hashtags #newtaipeitour #evaair.

According to statistics from the Tourism Bureau, Ministry of Transportation and Communications Republic of China (Taiwan) (MOTC), the number of Malaysian visitors travelling to Taiwan exceeded 520,000 in 2018, ranking number one among ASEAN countries, and as many as 70% of those were return visitors. Commissioner Chang Chi-Chiang of New Taipei City Tourism and Travel Department pointed out that New Taipei City has always been a must-visit city among Malaysian tourists coming to Taiwan, while Jiufen, Tamsui, Shifen, and Yeliu remain the most popular destinations. For Malaysian tourists to always have different experiences regardless of how many times they have visited the city, New Taipei City Government has established the tourism brand “Route 2 Taiwan” this year, and devised itineraries featuring 8 major secret attractions, aiming to present Malaysian tourists different landscapes of New Taipei City. The 8 hidden gems in New Taipei City include Tamsui-Kavalan Trails, Shen’ao Rail Bike, Shen’ao Fishing Village, and Laomei Green Reef, bringing Malaysian tourists brand-new experiences of New Taipei City.

Since 2009, New Taipei City and EVA Air have cooperated to launch many overseas tourism promotions, achieving great results along the way. According to EVA Air Senior Vice President Charlie Pan of Passenger Management Division, EVA Air currently operates 7 weekly flights between Taipei and Kuala Lumpur; in response to this promotion, EVA Air is launching two discount products:
