Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur Offers Comforting Foods for Iftar with ‘Dari Dapur Ummi’ Promotion

With the theme ‘Dari Dapur Ummi‘ (‘From Mum’s Kitchen’), Sunway Putra Hotel Kuala Lumpur presents delicious spread for iftar (breaking of fast) beginning 6 May 2019 until 4 June 2019 at the hotel’s Coffee House on Level 9, in conjunction with the month of Ramadan (Muslim fasting month).

Award-winning Executive Chef Rossham Rosli and his brigade of culinary experts has created irresistible buffet menu comprising signature must-haves such as barbecued lamb; chicken and beef satay; seabass, butter fish and red snapper cooked in flavourful asam pedas (sour and spicy) gravy; varieties of sushi; bone marrow soup; and traditional kuih (Malaysian bite-sized snacks and delicacies).

The spread also includes selections of kerabu (mixture of Malay salad and herbs), including raw local vegetables, rojak, pasembor, gado-gado and Western mixed salad as appetisers. Diners can also expect a smorgasbord of scrumptious Malay dishes served on rotation for instance Ayam Percik Seri Menanti (marinated grilled chicken), Daging Dendeng Cili (spicy sliced dried beef), Ikan Kembong Asam Rebus (fish cooked in sour gravy), Udang Masak Lemak Dengan Belimbing (prawn cooked in yellow coconut milk gravy mixed with small carambola), and Ikan Patin Masak Tempoyak (catfish cooked in coconut milk gravy mixed with fermented durian).

Besides Malay fare, the spread also includes Chinese and Indian options such as stir fried butter prawns, sauteed squid with pepper and garlic, butter chicken curry, Chinese mixed vegetables and fish tikka, among others.
