The Cherki Room, for example, commemorates the traditional Peranakan card game that is similar to mahjong. Dressed in a vibrant apple green, it recalls idyllic afternoons at Peranakan homes of yore when Nyonyas would gather to trade gossip and chew betel nut while wagering their luck in rounds od cherki. The hand-strung beads installation in the Manek Room is a tribute to the Nyonyas’ finesse in beadwork, while the Little Nyonya room showcases a capsule collection of ornate antique accessories that were passed down through generations.
Under the Chinese theme, the Clip-Clop Room is highlighted by a gigantic clog constructed from actual wooden clogs while the Oriental Beauty Room delights with an art piece assembled from gold-tinged boxes of the endearingly familiar Sam Fong Hoi Tong pressed powder.

- Pop Art Suite
Azulejos Room celebrates the Portuguese’s well-known tiles of the same name, painted ceramic pieces glazed with tin that not only brighten up any space but also helps regulate temperatures. The Kapit Room will bring back delicious memories of what Malaysians know as ‘love letters’ as it’s decked out in an installation of the patterned moulds used in the making of the crunchy wafer, which has its roots in Dutch waffles. The British influence is showcased in the Union Jack and Victorian rooms, as well as the vibrant Pop Art Suite with a whimsical mural.
Timez Hotel Melaka is thus not unlike a time capsule that immortalises Melaka’s past and present, and the unique experience begins from the lobby itself, where 62 pieces of Swatch watches from a private collection are displayed for public viewing for the very first time.

Adjacent to the reception counter is the hotel’s F&B outlet, SuperRabbit Café which presents a menu of Asian-Western fusion delights, premium coffees and a selection of cakes. Popular dishes include the Dare To Try Spaghetti that pairs a savoury sambal petai prawns with al dente pasta, and the Charcoal Lover grilled chicken burger. Open for all-day dining, SuperRabbit Café is also an ideal spot for private parties, corporate meetings and events. A rooftop lounge, which affords inspiring views over Jonker Street, is in the pipeline.
