Tourism Selangor Highlights Selangor’s Latest Attractions at Taipei International Travel Fair, Taiwan

Tourism Selangor joined Taipei International Travel Fair, one of the most popular travel fairs in the Asia-Pacific region, will be held November 23- 26 at the Nanggang Exhibition Centre. Exhibitors of the fair, including restaurant, hotel, and tour operators, customarily offer impressive prices and special discounts to visitors in personalized B2B (Business to Business) sessions.

With domestic and international tourism markets growing strongly, Tourism Selangor took part in the Taipei ITF this year together with other delegates from Selangor such as, SkyMirror Travel and Tours, Sunflowers Holiday Sdn Bhd and Palace of Golden Horses Resort. This exhibition allowing Selangor’s visibility to effectively build tourism image as well as to attract visitors from Taiwan. Madam Noorul Ashikin Mohd Din, General Manager of Tourism Selangor said Tourism Selangor will be chalked out an aggressive marketing strategy for Taiwan market.

“We will offer and organize FAM (Familiarization) tours for agents and media exclusively from Taiwan and will further enhance Selangor’s image as a tourism destination in Taiwan market. We have already in joint promotion with several main players in travel trade such as Malindo Air and Sunflower Holiday, as well as with a strong support from Tourism Malaysia Taiwan Office to promote Selangor as a travel destination for Taiwanese tourists.” she added.

Tourism Selangor stated that the number of tourists coming from Taiwan has seen a significant increase of 67.25% percent in 2017 compared to the previous year in 2016, which is a result of solid bilateral cooperation between travel agencies of the two countries (Malaysia-Taiwan), a stable framework for a future market development, and an increasing number of Taiwan tourists to Malaysia.

The event promoted several new attractions of Selangor as tourist destinations, and encouraged Taiwanese to see them first-hand. The attractions were chosen off the back of international tourist popularity. Some of the chosen attractions consist of Sky Mirror in Kuala Selangor, Golf Tourism, Dong Zen Tample Tour, Royal Klang Heritage Walk in Klang, Agro Tourism in Sekinchan and Selangor Fruits Valley, and Homestay experience in Sungai Sireh Homestay in Kuala Selangor.
