Echoing its plantation heritage, the hotel is fashioned with tall windows and open-air features, with its upper lobby and room corridors overlooking the picturesque Courtyard, a popular al fresco outlet for afternoon tête-à-têtes or evening sundowners with relaxing water features. The overall design of the hotel lobby exudes Malaysian charm and culture with a reception sporting artistic prints of bucolic rural life such as fishermen enjoying the wau (Malaysian kite) after a long day at sea, and a ceiling adorned with artistic prints and palm frond-inspired designs.
The 152 new rooms are elegantly designed, showcasing elements of Malaysian culture and craft inspired by traditional Malaysian woven patterns in classic palm oil fruit colours. With room names inspired by elements of palm plants – Tamera Room, Areca Premium, Palmyra Family, Palm Suite and Royal Suite Duplex – a stay here promises to be filled with local character and charm.
