Upcoming Concerts at Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (Jan-Feb 2017)
| Dewan Filharmonik PETRONAS (DFP), located in the middle of the PETRONAS Twin Towers, Kuala Lumpur City Centre, continues to present fabulous concerts to whet the musical tastes of all music fans this new year. |
February will kick-off with an exciting concerts themed Italian Symphony on Saturday, 4 February 2017 at 8.30 pm and Sunday, 5 February 2017 at 3.00 pm. To be led by Roberto Abbado, the MPO will present works by Berlioz, Paganini and Berio, in this all-Italian programme, which will feature violinist Sergej Krylov.
A chamber concert will follow on Tuesday, 7 February 2017 at 6.30 pm, presenting chamber works by the MPO ensemble.

Conductor Abbado returns to the podium to helm the MPO in concerts themed Symphonie Fantastique on Friday, 10 February 2017 and Saturday, 11 February 2017 at 8.30 pm, presenting works by Wagner ad Berlioz.
The Malaysian Philharmonic Youth Orchestra (MPYO) will hold a concert themed Serenade on Sunday, 12 February 2017 at 3.00 pm. And serenade, it will, with works by Dukas, Dvorak and Tchaikovsky, under the baton of Naohisa Furusawa.

Spanish music fans should not miss concerts themed Fiesta Espaňol featuring MPO’s clarinetist Gonzalo Esteban and zesty dancer Núria Pomares, on Saturday, 18 February 2017 at 8.30 pm and Sunday, 19 February 2017 at 3.00 pm. Spanish conductor Miguel Romea will lead the MPO in these showcases.
Sensational local band, Akim & The Majistret, will take centre-stage on Monday, 20 February 2017 at 8.30 pm. This award-winning group will enthrall its young fans with a string of hits such as Potret and Mewangi.
The MPO will next present family-themed concerts, Gershwin’s Magic Key, on Saturday, 25 February 2017 at 3.00 pm and Sunday, 26 February 2017 at 2.30 pm and 4.30 pm. Conductor Furusawa will lead the MPO and will collaborate with Classical Kids Live!
Another chamber concert will close the month, this time on Tuesday, 28 February 2017 at 6.30 pm, presenting chamber works by the MPO ensemble.
